    My "Pearling" Story...

Here are my high luster avocado/pistachio FW's, earrings, double necklace and bracelet as well as my pearl net with the Green FW BIG pearl. Going "Green" today. Yay for the environment and double Yay Yay for pearls! On the bracelet clasp, it almost looks like a gold imperfection, but there is a...

    My "Pearling" Story...

Ran across this beautiful rose clasp some time ago. It originally had a very, very small diamond (.10ct). The clasp just said "pink pearls" to me...so I purchased it, and subsequently found the pink pearls. I was never satisfied with how it looked, so when I was reworking some jewelry recently I...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Just love those "Fall" colors...even if it is still over 100 degrees here in Texas. I just can't bring myself to decorate with pumpkins yet! Hope others are enjoying some cooler early Fall weather.

    My "Pearling" Story...

I found this beautiful dyed black akoya strand and it has the traditional filagree clasp. Since I'm all about a clasp I decided to restring them with this bracelet type clasp (same as the one I put on my daughter's pearls) so I could hang a dangle enhancer off the clasp when worn in front. It's...

    My "Pearling" Story...

Here is my first attempt at wire wrapping to make a Tin Cup necklace. I used half-hard 14K gold headpins because I was able to cut them at an angle and then nest the sharp part by looping it inside the pearl. (I thought this would look nicer than multiple wraps around with softer non-gold wire.)...

    My "Pearling" Story...

Today I'm wearing my South Sea 14mm pearl on a 14K White/Yellow Gold mixed enhancer. It sort of looks like the head of a Cobra, at least that is what someone said! Paired it with my 11mm South Sea Pearl stud earrings. The "chain" is 3 strands of 1-2mm lapis beads. I just love the mixture of blue...

    Lovely silver blue inherited pearls

I have a 36" strand just like the ones you have pictured. Mine are 8-9ishmm thick nacre and excellent luster. They came with a 14K heavy white gold clasp. I got them at just a fraction of what other strands were selling for. When searching for a strand, it seemed that most baroque Akoyas like...

    My "Pearling" Story...

So I've already listed this on the "11 to 13 Tahitian Strand" thread but wanted it to be in "My Pearling Story" as well. Watching so many lovely Tahitian strands appear in the "Show us your Pearls in Action!" thread I thought I'd start looking for the perfect Tahitian strand. This one came up on...

Done! These 11 to 13.5mm Graduated Tahitians are just so beautiful. Heavy, lustrous, just a slight variation in color (enough to know they are the real deal), and fantastic with this one-of-a-kind gold/diamond clasp. These will be a real treasure to wear. Now I just need to find the perfect...

    Valuation Help: Tahitian Strand 11-13mm

Update on my clasp...it took a while to explain my vision to the jeweler but he accomplished what I wanted. We had to add a diamond rondel to the bottom of each piece so that the thread/French wire could wrap over the support bar left after removing the screw and thread casing. The diamond...

3 Tips to Spot Dyed Pearls

Super cool! Thank you. Although sometimes I really like the color of a dyed pearl so much I'll purchase it...but knowing that it is dyed helps with price negotiation.
