Not in the UK, it's not. It would amount to constructive dismissal, in the employee's been working for the employer for 12 months or more, and therefore the employee could bring a case in the Employment Tribunal for Unfair Dismissal. Source - dearly beloved is a barrister, who does employment law.

I'm certainly not paying a premium for the brand - personally, I avoid brands. I particularly, for example, avoid clothes which have a large brand symbol of them - they should pay me if they want advertising! The only major-brand things I buy, really, are perfumes.

I think that's really lovely - both the original Mikimoto strand, and Jeremy's one, too. I've never been a great fan of those mixed freshwater pearl necklaces where the colours are all mixed up, I rather prefer these graduated ones.

The girls' uniform in that is pretty disgusting, boys definitely luckier. When my brother started prep school at the age of 7, he had to wear shorts (all year round), shirt, tie, blazer, knee-high socks and garters. Actually, he looked very sweet. But the tie was a pain for my mother, rather...

I have my holidays planned up until..... not at all. Adam and I both have 10 days booked out of work at the end of August, but not yet a plan about where to go or what to do.

I'd rather have no pearls than bright orange pearls, myself.... If I were them, at that school, I would be making a break for it. I think that the prospectus is trying to make them look happy and carefree.......
