A puzzle - balancing ethics and profit.

Hello all: Just to be a fly in the ointment here .... when I have items shipped to me via a shipping company, I often pay very high brokerage fees, and maybe customs/duties. If the item comes by mail, usually not, but maybe. It seems to be hit and miss. I have been charged $35 in fees for a...

What type of pictures make you want to buy jewelry?

Hello Cliclasp: What I mean, is just some part of the body for scale. If you don't have a model, maybe just photo the object up against your fingers or hand. Linda.

My new Sea of Cortez pearls (and a couple others).

Alex: Wow, wow and wow. That centre pearl is amazing. And in other amazing news; I received a new pearl today in the mail. A lovely, simple round Tahitian on a chain from Sarah at Kojima Pearls. What a delight she has been to deal with, and I hope to continue that relationship. Cheers. Linda.

Yeah, I agree with Bacca entirely. Multiple shots, some good close ups, and one on a model. Linda.

My new Sea of Cortez pearls (and a couple others).

Hi Pattye, yeah that silver chain is cool. Every second link opens up, so there is no actual "clasp". All those pearls are just pendants slipped on. Alex: pomegranate is a good name for it because the surface is a little flat in spots too, so it has that shape as well. Hooray for pearls! Linda.

Thank you everyone for the kind comments. The lampwork beads weren't as difficult as I expected; those were first tries. What was difficult, was getting the bead symmetrical. Marianne: haha! I do NOT wear that glass one. Actually, lately, all I wear is leather stuff and of course any pearl...

My new Sea of Cortez pearls (and a couple others).

Hello Pearl Friends: I have received my pearls from Mexico. They were a little more subdued in colour than I expected. But now that I have been wearing them, their unique look is becoming apparent to me, and I am loving them. There are "green" earrings, and a "purple" pendant, with gold. The...

Here are my humble beads: :-) All bracelets, some leather, some stretchy, and one made from tacky glass beads that I created in a lampwork class. Linda. :-)

Oh you gals! So much talent and so much beauty in this thread! I have found my "People." When I was Dental Hygiene student at Vancouver's Community College, I used to enviously check out the Gemology/Silversmithing student's work and think to myself; "I'm in the wrong program." Maybe one day I...

    Mana leather bracelet from Kamoka

Hello Pearl Friends: Here are the photos of my bracelet. It is rugged and well made, and the pearl and MoP are quite lovely. One of the photos appears to show a chip on the corner of the MoP piece, but it is not a chip, I think it must be a light refraction abberration of some type. Looking...

Kamoka Tahitian Pearl on Leather Launch!

I have my Mana bracelet now. The leather is gorgeous. And the pearl just glows next to the dark leather. And in addition to these nice things, the Kamoka MoP piece with two holes in it is very cool. Very happy.

    Breaking the ice

Hi Alex: My theory, and please correct me if you think I am wrong .... my theory is that the SoCs are kind of still "unknown". Once the world finds them, then I will be in trouble. I figure I better get a couple while they are still "cheap". Ha! I love having something unique. Have a nice day...

My new Sea of Cortez Earrings

Yup - that's the right attitude. I said to my husband all those years ago: "Do you mind if I go grey?" He says: "No, do you mind if I go bald?" So, all's well that ends well. Linda.
