    Tahitian Stretch Bracelets

Pattye, only water contact is via handwashing, so I can't comment on how it will hold up to extensive contact with water. The cord is rubber like so I can't think why water would damage it, but I haven't seen any literature on the product addressing this issue. A pix of bracelets, ~9+ months in...

    Tahitian Stretch Bracelets

I've made several stretch tahitian pearl bracelets using Stretch Magic (1mm diameter). I've had them about a year and wear them constantly. Both the pearls and the cord are holding up well. I've restrung them a couple of times more from an abundance of caution than need as the cord looked fine...

Erm... (Runs and Hides) I did try to restrain myself

Yes, I did get strand 546. The pearls are gorgeous with great luster but are a bit too dark for my coloring. I plan on returning the strand. Hopefully I can find a lighter strand with the same quality.

    Oh My God! Pp Monthly!!

First, I just want to thank Callire for alerting us to this great sale. My pearls arrived last night, they are gorgeous! I am going to string them with an antique clasp, but I thought I would share some photos now. The pearls are 8.5 - 9mm. For size and color reference, the off white pearls are...

Please help me choose which gold spacers

thanks Pattye, most of the pearls on this bracelet are LOOT tahitians from PP. No clasp, on 1mm elastic. The dark beads are antique black glass beads.

Please help me choose which gold spacers

I think the 22K spacers are a better option; I used very similar beads in this bracelet:

    One more exotic

Hi Perle and Pearl_dreams, thanks for the photo compliments. Re mylar screen - basically I used a thin clear plastic (mylar) sheet in an opaque/matte finish that I got at the drafting section of an art supply store. For best results, hold the sheet between the light source and the subject...

    One more exotic

to echo other PGer's comments, I think that the exotics are at their best in indirect light...I've finally been able to take a couple of decent photos of my 7-8mm strands... as an example of the impact of lighting, one photo was taken in direct sunlight, the other with a mylar screen to diffuse...

Did you get your exotics yet?

Thank you, thank you, thank you Jeremy for the Exotics offer! All the pearls were so beautiful - I spent so much time admiring the pearls that I almost missed out on purchasing. Luckily I got 2 strands of the 7-8mm to make a long necklace. Can't wait to get it - now I'm regretting not picking...

Which way should non round pearls be drilled?

I was wondering, is there a standard way that non round pearls should be drilled for use in a necklace? Does it depend how off round they are - i.e. if the difference between width and length is greater than ? mm then they get drilled on the long axis?

    pendant?

Hi, 1.7mm is a rather large diameter hole, you will need somewhere between 12 (2mm) to 14 (1.5mm) gauge wire. Here is a link to a site that translates a pretty broad range of gauges to mm to inches. http://www.hauserandmiller.com/fab/round.html
