    Vintage '70's Brutalist Neckpiece

I really like seeing pearls "done" in something other than "twee cardie lunch at the country club" way, you know? (hope that doesn't offend anyone! I'd love to belong to a country club myself! Lol). Just cool to see them in a different light....... I've noticed a lot of funky pearl jewelry...

    are these basra pearls

Oh my gosh I can't wait to see these babies "prettied up"! So curious what the true colours are (I'm wondering how they got SO icky? Would that just be from lots of wear on a smoker?) Jodie

    Vintage '70's Brutalist Neckpiece

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally just love huge statement pieces, and brutalist/modern at that. This is just FAB! The pearls mix surprisingly well with this style I think..... by Israeli artist Rachel Gera in the early 1970's. It says the pearls are around 9.5mm. Would...

Look at what's coming to the Victoria and Albert Museum!

Oh, Amazon has 30% off until tomorrow! Any expensive pearl books anyone can think of that can be bought through Amazon? (30% off special is only good on ONE book, might as well take advantage of it!) Jodie

    Graduated Keishi's?

Looks like they're on a wire rather than string of any sort....... maybe someone was collecting them? Yes, there does seem to be a definite difference between the large and small pearls, aren't there? Colour is white in the larger ones, cream in the smaller ones...... hmmm......

    Graduated Keishi's?

What is everyone's best guess on these? They are 1-4mm, only about 10 inches in length (being sold as a broken necklace for repair). I'm guessing keishi Akoyas but they are graduated, which is throwing me off a bit...... - Jodie -

    Mood Beads

Ooh, Carnaby street style was the coolest! I'm so mad I missed the sixties! I was a full-out goth in my twenties (the eighties). I didn't see the sun for about ten years, lol. Still have my love for skulls and macabre things (but also love sparkle and hippie!). Jodie

Fed Ex delivery from us to Canada

I HATE buying things that are sent by courier! (I am in Vancouver, BC, and buy a lot from the US on Ebay, Etsy, Ruby Lane). Sometimes the "bargain" price is completely wiped out by the time all these other fees are added in. Weird thing is, it seems to be entirely hit or miss as to when you...

    Mood Beads

Yes - they're thermoreactive (react to your body temperature, just like the stuff from the '70's!). Totally cool, right? I bought nine ringed south sea pearls with large holes. I'm stringing them on a leather cord and I wanted to mix them with something "fun" to make them feel a bit more...

    Vintage freshwater necklace?

Could THESE possibly be Tay pearls? Were there enough of them to be in a triple strand? I've only ever seen singles or a couple on brooches etc. If they were, would they have a paste clasp? Or would they have used the real thing? Jodie

    Mood Beads

Has anyone on here worked with any of these coated polymer clay mood beads? I just discovered them (I'm so out of it I have NO idea how long they've been around). They are quite pretty I think, and the designs lend themselves perfectly to pearl work (mermaids, turtles, sea urchins). Thoughts...
