Sorting/blending pearls for long convertible rope (mini version of Purrhana's)

Thanks, Purranha! That makes a lot of sense! I think I can adapt that to what I'm trying to do, which is to make the tassels into removable "charms" for lack of a better word. I was thinking I would use metal wire and wire-wrap it at the top, but maybe the soft-flex would work better and be less...

Sorting/blending pearls for long convertible rope (mini version of Purrhana's)

thanks :) I didn't plan on using them looped through -- that was really just to test out the colors for now. I'd like to set them up as more permanent charms with a jump ring and/or clasp at the top. i just need to figure out how.

Sorting/blending pearls for long convertible rope (mini version of Purrhana's)

Thanks -- not all my photos were loading. I'll try again later. I like the idea of being able to have one large tassel for the doubled rope and also having it with a small tassel on each end as more of a "scarf" situation. I still need to figure out how to wire wrap the tassels...

Sorting/blending pearls for long convertible rope (mini version of Purrhana's)

Thanks, amti! I'm quite pleased with how this came out. I'm all about versatile pieces right now! JerseyPearl -- the pearls were sold as 7.5-8.5mm, though I'd say the range is actually a bit larger than that - some are quite small, and some are quite plump. I don't have a good ruler for...

Sorting/blending pearls for long convertible rope (mini version of Purrhana's)

tassels have arrived -- I will post pics later tonight I hope. but i am facing a technical/logistical conundrum. how do i wire wrap/string them? do i cut off the attached loop and then wire wrap around/through the "head" of the tassel and into a bead? Purranha, is this what you did to attach...

Bead store mashup ropes (or enbcfsobe learns to string beads on wire)

Thanks, all! BWeaves -- I'm not so much worried about how the crimps look (I used covers on them), but about whether they hold!! I'd hate to have all those teeny-tiny stones scattered about. At the same time, I'm less concerned than I would be if I had used more expensive materials. Tucs --...

Bead store mashup ropes (or enbcfsobe learns to string beads on wire)

Thanks so much, KatBran - it was fun to be a little spontaneous and random after spending hours sorting and re-sorting pearls for my last project. Thanks, LD -- I wear a ton of grey and black, so these seemed to be a way of adding some "sparkle" to my sortof dreary pallette without going either...
