    Multicolor metallic rice krispies

Yes these does not look dyed, I am convinced they are naturally colored. They look so pretty when seen in sunlight, and the golden ones looks like little gold nuggets!

You sure can! I love pawn shops. Have done some great deals there in the past

    Multicolor metallic rice krispies

I agree. You always get a better sense of colors on a neck shot.

    Multicolor metallic rice krispies

Yes I also wondered why someone chose a gold clasp for these pearls. However, I am saving that clasp for another project (also involving multicolored pearls, though not Rice Krispies).

BWeaves : Never heard about reborn pearls before. How interesting! I was just guessing that these might be rice krispies, but I am sure no expert! I finished stringing it and have taken some more pictures :)

    Multicolor metallic rice krispies

So this is another pawn shop find that I am really pleased with. I actually only paid standard gold price for the 18K gold clasp that was originally on it and got the pearls thrown in for free. I decided to restring them and change to a smaller silver clasp. (This picture is taken while I am...

Chrsities Auction - A few interesting pieces!

I think the bigger the diamond, the more people will assume they're fake. I wear my diamond studs almost every day (though they are not huge, they are clearly worth quite a bit of money). I've never had anyone react to them. I actually like wearing my "nice" jewelry on a very "every day/casual"...

Karman: Those Chanel costume necklaces of yours sounds interesting, I really wouldn't mind seeing some pictures of them.. ;)

Ok, so I have an idea. What if you would go through all those pearls and pick out the best ones and then make a really great single strand with a little twist? Here's what I had in mind: (The pictured necklace does not belong to me, it is an art deco piece that I saw on an auction site some...

Three strand freshwater - pearl sizes

I would look into using strand 1 as the largest one and then ask the jeweler to pick out two smaller strands to go with that. It can definitely get too heavy if you use large pearls, bigger freshwaters weigh quite a lot

    Help with these pearls?

Pearl Dreams: I wear it with certain clothes, mainly dresses that have a bit of "retro"-feel (1950s vibes). If I wear it with a plain shirt it looks more dated (in my opinion), so then I would opt for larger pearls instead. BWeaves: Yes it really felt overkill with that security clasp, I like...

    Help with these pearls?

Here you go! (hope someone doesn't think this is too OT) It is 53cm long and pearls range from 3mm to almost 8mm. It has a very small clasp that has (Swedish) hallmarks on it, telling the year it was made, in what town and by what goldsmith. (It also used to have a safety clasp that I removed...

    De-Stash Project - Stash Bash

I was going to add that I thought you did a great job, but then I thought that my opinions are really irrelevant in this case. If you don't like them and won't wear them, then you should donate them.

    De-Stash Project - Stash Bash

Since you are still not sure if you like them I would take that as a sign that it's time to get rid of them

what a difference a watermark makes...

I once worked for an antiques dealer who had a nice web shop with pictures off the things we currently had for sale in the shop. One day one of our competitors stole most of our pictures and put them on their website. When we contacted them they said those pictures were examples of things they...
