    PriceScope and Pearl-Guide:

From another personal perspective, I do not participate in PG as much as I used to because I have moved on from my "pearls" phase. I still have jewellery projects involving pearls, however, they are specific items that are unlikely to be found off the shelf that easily. Also, they are big...

    PriceScope and Pearl-Guide:

I have fond memories of the time when PP had a baroque Tahitian necklace sale a good few years ago, and a number of us rushed to PG to post about which strand(s) we managed to bag. Happy days! DK :)

    PriceScope and Pearl-Guide:

I have been active on PG a lot longer than I have been on PS, and started as a lurker on PS long before they finally decided to have a section dedicated for Pearls. I frequent both nowadays, and tend not to venture into the Pearls section on PS unless a subject matter catches my eyes. To me...

    Aren't these nice?

Thanks for the pics, good timing as I am thinking about setting a Tahitian drop I purchased in a insect brooch design with coloured gemstones. DK :)

    Pearl Rings for Larger Hands

My two pearl rings, one Tahitian the other SSP. Don't know the size of the pearls, however, I believe the Tahitian is a 12mm and the SSP is larger at 13mm or more. I have small hands with chubby/chunky fingers, so small delicate rings look insignificant on my hands. DK :)

The secret of Empress Josephine's pearl necklace

I guess the photographer was more interested in capturing the diamonds on the bangle than the pearls! DK :)

    My collection of terrible pearls

I started my collection with rice crispies many years ago, and still have some of the ones I made for myself somewhere. DK :)

Please help me choose a Tahitian pearl for a ring

My personal preference is blues and greens, and like No. 1, 2 and 4 in the first strip, starting from the right, No. 2 being my favourite of the lot. Of the two pearls in the second and third card, I prefer the smaller one on the right, as it looks nicer to my eyes in terms of colour and...

The long drop-shaped pearl will make an excellent bug (butterfly or a queen bee) pendant or brooch! DK :)

Paula Crevoshay - Queen of Color!

I would love the ring and the bracelet if they were in white gold, personal preference, of course. DK :)

First time pearl buyer: help on "power pearls" or "office pearls"

Concur with the others about getting the largest size pearls one can afford. I would opt for a necklace, plus a pair of earrings in a larger size, and drop the bracelet (I personally prefer to wear a watch and a couple of non-pearl bracelets on my wrists). How about a strand of lariat style...

New Pearls of the Week - Abalone Ring from Pacific Coast Pearls!

Stunning pearl, however, the setting is not for me unless it is in white gold. DK :)

    little h Gets More Press!

Congratulation to Hisano! Note to self: one to add to shopping list: a baroque SSP gas giant to be given similar alteration, possibly with multi-colour tiny diamonds. DK :)

TJ Maxx Strand - photos and some questions

The shape of the pearls (some noticeably "potato" in shape), the appearance of the surface imperfections that could be observed, and the unevenness of the colours amongst the pearls, made me come to the same conclusion as pattye, and she has seen and handled a lot more pearls than I have. Good...
