This is interesting! I guess when I think "faceted" pearls I think of pearls with beads that have multiple flat sides, but that's not what this is at all. I assume to facet a pearl it has to have very thick nacre?

I use one of those goofy magnifier headband things with an LED and different levels of magnification. It looks silly but I love it. Got it on Amazon for not too much.

Those are stunning, jeg! Wearing them over color to contrast is a great idea. Today’s look - ring with dyed Kojima freshies, and “harvest” rope of Tahitians and akoya keshi. You can’t really see it in the pic, but the top really brings out the cherry colors.
