    A couple of ropes

Sadly no Kasumis on this strand. Maybe some day though! I do have a couple Kasumis kicking around but they are set in pendants. I'd love to see pics of your stash.

    A couple of ropes

Hi everyone, Just wanted to share some pics of my new pearl ropes. The first one I strung myself (sweated the whole time because it was my first attempt at endless knotting). The second one I call my Easter necklace and is from Sarah at Kojima. I asked her for a long strand of mixed shapes...

#4 is my favorite. Love the size, shape and color of the strand. Of course they are all beautiful.

PEARLS by Elisabeth Strack - How Do I Order It

I ordered a copy from Rio Grande about a month ago and received it two days later. I assume that means they have them in stock and ready to ship. Might be faster to order from them than go through the German publisher.

My Newly Hand selected Tahitian Baroques from PP!!

I love the daylight pics. I think you need matching dangle earrings. Maybe baroque silver tahitian studs with a peacock dangle on a jump ring/chain so you can wear it with or without the dangle........and then you might just need a bracelet too (so then you should send me your flameball...

Madama pics (and some fun freshwaters)

Thanks! Neck shots will have to wait until I have someone to help me (I'm not that coordinated to do it myself unfortunately.) As for sizes, based on shoddy memory I'd say: blue baroques - 8.5-9 hanadamas - 8.5-9 madamas - 7-7.5 fw mettalics - 8-8.5 pondslimes - 11 or 12?? The keshis are one...

Madama pics (and some fun freshwaters)

And since I started playing with pearls, I got some of my other strands out. They are a PP metallic fw rope just in today (thanks Jeremy for being patient with all my revisions), a near round pondslime strand and pondslime keshi strand from Kojima (thanks again Sarah!) and a coin pearl strand...

Madama pics (and some fun freshwaters)

Hi everyone, A friend of mine asked me to send her comparison pics of my new PP madamas and my less new but still loved PP blue baroque akoyas. I thought I would share them here. I slipped a white hanadama strand in between to break up the color.

    Is there a pearl-safe detarnisher?

I really wish the answer was as easy as restringing. The pearls are set in silver brooches/pendants. One brooch is a seahorse with a belly full of pearls and a pearl eye. It is hard to clean the silver without touching the pearls. I'll check out that ultrasonic cleaner though. Thanks!

    Is there a pearl-safe detarnisher?

I'm rehashing an old thread because I have the same question as the original poster. I have some vintage Mikimoto pieces in silver with pearls and I don't know how to get the tarnish off the silver without damaging the pearls. I don't think I'd like to experiment with the baking soda method...

    Mikimoto grading

Just what I was looking for thanks!

    Mikimoto grading

Looking for some help. I noticed Mikimoto does not use the term "hanadama" on their grading scale. Does this mean that not all their pearls would meet the "hanadama" grading standards of the PSL?

    Looking for flameballs

Hi Sarah, actually I've purchased a kasumi from you in the past. I thought Pacific Pearls only sold wholesale but I emailed them anyway and just received a response back. In this case, I'm glad I was wrong. Oh to be in your shoes.....love to hear if you find anything interesting in HK...

    Looking for flameballs

Fireball and flameball are the same thing no? I was looking for something like the second strand from the top of this picture (from Pacific Pearls who does not appear to have an online retail store).

    Looking for flameballs

Looking for flameballs Hello everyone, I'm a newbie hoping to get some help. I've been drooling over the pictures of flameball pearls here and am looking for a multicolor strand of pinks and mauves. I'm not having any luck finding any. Anyone have an idea where to look? I'm also looking...
