I tell ya, large pearl strands are what all the powerfull women are wearing these days. Besides Nancy Pelosi, great strands have been seen on Condeleeza Rice, Michelle Obama, and others. It will be fun to count the pearl stands we see in the pictures from the inauguration and inaugrual balls.

Hey Sheryl, I would recommend you use a flexible shaft drill or a drill with a foot pedal to control the speed of that drill. The brand of drill I use is "Foredom". I really like it. I think the Dremel will work, but I don't like the lack of speed control with the Dremel. The bits I use...

Pearls are soft, gemologically speaking, so you don't have to use a diamond tipped drill to drill through them. I have a Foredom flex shaft drill and I use stainless steel burs and bits. I've never used a dremmel, but I believe they should use similiar burs and bits.
