Well her name is Margarita, right? Which also means pearls. So it’s apt that she is the Queen of Pearls! My italian friends didnot know that. They associate this name with the flower ‘Margarite’, a daisy like flowers.

Am at Gressoney-St - Jean, visting the Savoy castle and saw this portrait of the Queen. It might be of interest for some lovers of natural pearls, even though it’s a painting.

If thick nacre is such an important factor in the quality of the pearl, and tissue nucleated pearls has nearly all aspects of natural pearls ( those found in the wild ), why is the price so moderate?

Katbran, the largest pearl is around 14 mm, while the 2 cracked pearls are aroumd 9 mm. There are all sorts of blues and greens, and cocoa, and bronze, coppery, etc. under the predominant brown. But such lack of luster! And those other colors don’t really pop out and you, you kinda have to look...
