Pearlcat, where do you live? We might be able to help you find a beading store with french wire so you can at least see it before you decide what size to order. I like "fine" size wire with up to 20 test PowerPro because you can barely see it, but some silk might not want to pass through it...

Have you ever had problems with the PowerPro turning black? I did this once before I had a zapper and I had to restring.

Congratulations! In the future, you might try esnipe.com. It's a very handy way to manage bids and minimize the chance of getting outbid at the last moment.

Breakage like that happened to me once. It seemed to be caused by brittleness from the thread zapper, though a sharp pearl might have been involved too. On the booboos thread, the going theory is that the gap comes from your last knot coming undone. Good luck!

That's quite wonderful--Is it a microfiber cloth of some sort? The only cloths I've had that worked that well came with thick gloves, warnings, etc. :) It's true jump rings will break after several twists, but after someone takes the clasp on and off that many times, it's probably a good time...

Another vote for always knotting... better than a strand all over the floor a few years down the line! I use fingernail clippers to disassemble PowerPro (perpendicular pruning for pearl protection :D ) and a zapper to finish off a strand.
