    not Keshi

Saw yesterday South Sea pearls from Manado, Sulawesi, Indonesia and thought they were keshi. The farmer, however, pointed out that these were pearls with a small fresh water pearl as a nuclei. So the pearls got a new name, Orient Pearls. The price per momme is considerably lower than keshi...

A fun strand of big Edisons!

Nice and beautiful but would never buy a strand like this. The price would be high and then the consumers still think that Chinese freshwater pearls carry a different price tag. The strand will be too long in my stock then. Yoko London is able to to sell in this price range but they will not...

    Burmese Golden Pearl

Their prices, same as the prices of gem stones from Myanmar have gone up considerably since the country opened up. Prices of Myanmar pearls are about 30 percent higher than Jewelmer...

As South Sea pearls do cost so much, it is so nice to be able to find excellent alternatives and Fresh Water cultured pearls have nowadays those. The luster and surface is good and white...

    Finding Tahitian pearl drop pairs

There is slowly a problem arising, many wholesalers found out that if they match on forehand they can ask a lot more for their pearls. That is especially happening with big Tahitian drops of 15 mm up. A famous wholesaler told me that those go easy at private sales prior to a Fair. I can do it...

I re-measured the size and sorry, they are 3.5 - 4mm :) . Three loose strands and a nice golden clasp should make it complete.
