    Jersey Pearl. the pearls are not knotted but the stringing is done on a very flexible thin Japanese stainless steel cord and between each pearl is a silicon cushion.

    When I was last month at the pearl farm near Manado on the island Pulau Talisei, the owner of the farm told me that of the 2 Japanese grafters one produced more round pearls and the other one more ovals and drops. According to the owner is it is the place in the gonad where bead is placed.

    I have here a photo I took when I visited a pearl farm in Vietnam. You can see the nucleus 9 = 2.72 mm and 2 pearls. You can also see the thickness of the nacre and the time the pearls were in the oyster.
