    grey faceted Tahitian pearl ring

I can't keep my eyes off of it so I guess it is a winner. I do love the overall look- it is very modern and edgy. I'm not sure I like the idea of removing slices or bits off the pearl that removes its natural luster. Unless of course it is a poor quality pearl that is deeply pitted or lacks...

Looking to purchase ss golden pearl necklace

I'm really looking to wear the pearls on a daily basis. I would like to wear them to work with formal suit, casual friday and weekends as well. I'm not at all concern about wearing them for special occasions as they are not frequent and usually work related. I really like the idea that I can...

Did I pay too much for my Tahitian Baroque Necklace

Thank you. I guess we humans are like pearls, with many skin/hair colour combinations and complex overtones. The real fun now begins, find the right pearl(s) for the right person.

This isn't deep gold, is it?

Hi Rusty, You inspired me to look up the definition of Baroque that I remembered from early art history classes. The Baroque period and style emerged following the renaissance and is defined by it's ornamentation and curved lines. When applied to the pearl it means irregular shape. Here is the...

This isn't deep gold, is it?

Hello again Rusty, Thank you so much- amazing info. Still so much more to learn and consider. It is also great to get the perspective from farmers and industry people and learn about your efforts by region. I am going to have to google map your location to see where your farm is located. Of...

Looking to purchase ss golden pearl necklace

To all pearl lovers, Is a simple pearl strand more wearable on a daily basis versus jewelled strands (diamond rondelles, etc). While I loave the added jewels, I'm not sure if I'd wear them as often and a simple strand. Is the jewelled strand intended for more special occasions?

This isn't deep gold, is it?

Hello Rusty, I too am amused by the.... "Retail price 98K, our price 28K". I'm seeing this a lot in online shopping. Can you tell me what "Drop Circles/Circle drops....versus.... Baroque means? Thanks, Artemis

This isn't deep gold, is it?

Wow, amazing strand indeed. I viewed the site to see what else they had in the golds-minus the diamonds. I found golds from Indonesia not none from Australia. Can any one tell me what differences might be betwen the two regions (colour, etc?) or do they both produce the same range of quality...

Do Golden South Sea pearls have overtones?

Hi Jeremy, Would you be able to direct me to a site/page where I can see the range of gold SSP? Including what a yellow looks like. One thing for sure, I'm pretty much decided on not to purchase from a Brick and morter shop as they have very limited offerings and even less knowledge, not to...

Do Golden South Sea pearls have overtones?

Do Golden South Sea pearls have overtones?

All this discussion on Ruckus made me look to see what this reference was. This appears to be a very exciting forum. Is this a place where a consumer can go and see maybe even buy? Would I see a range of SSP pearls and be able to try on various colours, etc?

Hi Jeremy, What would say is the proportion of people that shop for "whites" versus "gold" and "Tahitians"?

Did I pay too much for my Tahitian Baroque Necklace

Hi Adeline, Thanks for your perspective. You reminded me of a chance encounter I had with a woman from the Philipines at the pearl counter one day. I was there with my sister who is a brunette with fair skin. She told us that while she loved the golds, they did not suit her. She tried on the...

Did I pay too much for my Tahitian Baroque Necklace

You are absolutely right, I do find myself feeling each pearl while wearing them. Nothing feels better on around the neck than pearls both in summer and winter (doesn't freeze). I was/am also not sure about Tahitians from a colour perspective. That is probably why I'm saving for goldens.

May I ask about the shipping experience you had. I also live in Canada and would like to know about shipping pearls from the US (Taxes, duty, cost of shipping and cost of returns). Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Do Golden South Sea pearls have overtones?

You are right, I will only buy one gold pearl necklace and I will only do so when it is "right". I'm doing this research to ensure as much as possible that I do get this right. I also agree with the "joy of becoming the owner of a strand is an experience to be relished in the flesh. Feel them...
