Hello everyone,
My jaw dropped on a recent visit to a popular pearl on line site. Absolutely beautiful pearls, seriously heart stopping.
More info please.
I too went into a high end store and looked at their pearl selection for thousands of dollars and saw highly noticable pitting. The sales woman explained to me that the pitting is a sign that they were "real". There is so little pearl knowledge out there particularly in stores.
Be still my heart.... I'm in love with the gold pearls and I believe that they will suit my skin tone beautifully. I won't really know for sure until I try them on of course---can't wait. I laugh at the thought of Wilma Flintsone sized gems, but the reality is that I do secretly desire them. I...
How funny is that, I too secretly want a Wilma Flintstone necklace. Twice in the past year in BnM stores, I laughed when I saw Wilma's looking necklaces. The laugh was a nervous laugh as the cost was prohibitive but the truth is that I really, really love them.
I guess we grew up watching the...
As cliclasp mentioned, we can all appreciate the pure natural beauty of things/Pearls. I have not doubt that this applies to all of the readers and contributors on this site.
The general population or consumer of pearls will vary greatly in what they are looking (quality, shine, colour) for...
Thank you tyren, you said exactly what I was thinking on this topic. From a consumer perspective, disclose everything and let me decide. I personally lean toward the minimal touching of the natural pearl as possbile.
I want to thank you all for having such a wonderful and honest discussion...
Bonjour Jacques,
Sorry for the long response time. I'm located in Toronto, Canada, but travel often to Montreal, my home town.
If you have a calendar of lectures in Europe, I am also planning to travel in the coming months.
Thanks, Artemis
Hi everyone, I'm back and I missed you all. :)
How do you not pass out at Rukus looking at all those beautiful pearls. Note to self---must attend next Rukus.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to buy pearls as an investment. I was just curious on the valuation of pearls. Does it lose value as soon as you drive it off the lot?
Of course I will only buy pearls that I love.
