Any suggestions for how to store long ropes? Like 32-44 inch ropes? Correct me if i’m wrong, but isnt it better to lay the ropes flat, as hanging would stretch the silk?

So here’s my first attempt at knotting! Its green agate with a micron plated panther head clasp. Nothing expensive or extravagant, but i wanted to practice my knotting skills before I attempted on nicer beads/pearls

Yes! We made it all the way to the top! Disappointed at the jade hawkers bazaar. Overly aggressive vendors, i couldn’t concentrate enough to examine what was there All the pearls were either plastic or chalky. 😓

So im in Hong Kong for a week for vacation and sight seeing Are there any places you guys suggest to find some nice FWP here? Can i expect any good finds at the jade hawker market? Any tips and tricks are much appreciated!

I have messaged with them before, they are prompt in response and send pics/video of actual inventory I havent purchased yet though because i live in the philippines, and i worry about them getting lost in customs here (the philippines is shady)

i believe that that may have been color treated in some way. Most natural freshwater pearl colors are more lavender/mauve/pink/peach. if you look at the inside of the freshwater river mussel that freshwater pearls are made of, you can see the spectrum of natural colors that mollusc can create...

They are pretty common. The pearl vendors here in the philippines call those marks fishbites
