    Pearl and Gemstones

I recently made a necklace that has SoC pearl, freshwater pearl and quartz crystal. I couldn't think of any colored stone to go with it tho, I was afraid that the gem stone will stand out more than the pearl. Any suggestion?

Is this a real Edison Pearl?

If you like rainbow Edison pearls, I saw druzy design (ebay and etsy) and Kong pearls (etsy) have quite a lot of them in stock. They are favorite vendors of many members (including me) in this forum too.

Pearl Dreams, thank you so much for the fascinating history of "metallic pearls"! I think I should be grateful that freshwater pearls are getting better every year, and young pearl fans like me got to see and actually be able to afford fancy pearls occasionally, despite having average budget...

    Tahitian pearl geography

This is something I always want to know, but so far I haven't found any online information about it. I noticed that sometimes vendors value tahitian pearls from certain places as more valuable/ higher quality? So are tahitian pearls from certain places (like Gambier, Fiji or Cook Islands)...

    New Buyer. Where to begin?

I will suggest druzydesign. They have both Ebay and Etsy stores, and seems like the products they have on each site are quite different. Most of druzy's pearls I've seen and purchase are drilled pearls though, but the shipping is excellent (3 day shipping in US, free on Ebay and arond $3 on...

Nucleus beads rolling inside the pearls?!!!

BWeaves that's a great way to think of this! I was really concerned about the weight, since it feels like hollow bead of plastic/cheap metal. But as you said, these pearls have thick nacre, so I don't have to worry about them wearing off in the future.

Nucleus beads rolling inside the pearls?!!!

Pearlescence Thank you so much for the advice. Thankfully the pearls are already half-drilled so a beginner like me don't have to struggle so much

    real pearl

well we don't know what type of pearls they are tho. We also don't know much about that certification's quality, since there are no info about the environment or oyster types or anything like that. You might want to sell it in your country since the certification is probably more well-known...

Nucleus beads rolling inside the pearls?!!!

Thank you so much for the replies! I just learned something new today! I'm glad I actually bought what I should get. The pearls are surprisingly light so I was quite concerned. I have a question though. What is it that make pearls' weight so different from each other? I have a few pearls from...

Nucleus beads rolling inside the pearls?!!!

Hi everybody! I just bought these "blue Japanese akoya pearls" from an EBay seller called "chin's pearl", for 20 USD and around $4 shipping. I received them today and I think I just got myself faux pearls, but very interesting ones. So they actually look like the photos on eBay, good luster...

Need comments on these pearls (from various sources)

The studs' metal is silver and the stone are probably CZ. I paid around $110 for them in Vietnam. The bracelet metal is sterling silver plated with 18k gold. Pearls sizes are 11.4 and 11.3 8mm. I will try to take better photos of #1 and #4 tomorrow since it getting dark in my area and the lights...
