Strand of pearls--how to test if natural? I live in Delaware.

They don’t look asymmetrical, to me. Which is the definition of “baroque”. Someone would have to examine much closer to tell you if their freshwater or not. 👍🏻 I mean they do appear to be freshwater pearls but if I cannnot tell from this photo I doubt someone else could say for certain.

Is this worth sending to a lab?

Nice I am so impressed with your guys’ ability to identify this over photos :) I'm sure the folks at GIA had to use equipment. Now to find a buyer 😅

Never clasped Mikimoto Cultured Pearls Worth getting appraised locally?

This looks very special. I can’t say for certain that it’s authentic from photos but it does look special like I said. Good luck finding someone locally that knows their pearls. 🤷‍♀️ you could probably find a buyer without the appraisal. Just take good photos and put on eBay for your asking...

    Pearl type

Thank you again for your time I do appreciate you helping me on this one. They are 7.5-8mm, so not quite that big unfortunately:p I have yet to see akoyas larger than 8.7mm so far… :) However the only baroque akoyas I’ve seen were small so I guess they had thinner nacre. They were gorgeous though.

    Pearl type

Thank you so much for your response. I handle a lot a lot of akoyas and the luster on these is very different than any I’ve seen, is there a reason the luster would be different, treatment perhaps? I think I see it now, the baroqueness is maybe paired with the larger size is what is unusual too...

Is this worth sending to a lab?

I’ve been holding on to this ring for awhile and would like to sell it. From my observations it looks to be a natural saltwater pearl with unknown origin. My question is would it be worth it to get it checked out in a lab, would that significantly add to the value? Photos taken with magnification.

Are these real Mikimoto? Doesn't have M on clasp, only ‘Sterling’. They are grity on my teeth. My deceased god mothers. So can't ask.

Very hard if not impossible to find out information (for me) on un hallmarked mikimoto. The company won’t even authenticate unless it’s hallmarked. But if you just want to know for your purposes, yes those look like mikimoto pearls and yes that clasp is gorgeous, and mikimotos style. These look...
