That's a good point with the graduated strands. My wife's necklaces always end up with the clasp going towards the front, so I'd imagine the big pearl would as well.

Thanks for your input everyone! At this point I think I am set on getting the Akoyas. I'm now split between getting A. 7.0-7.5mm AA+ B. 6.5-7.0mm AAA C. Some kind of graduated necklace (maybe 6.0mm - 8.5 mm) AA+ Any opinions on these?

I don't think Amazon charges any fee (I buy things all the time from them). Also, I think they both have 14K gold clasps. I don't think that would make a $220 difference in the prices.

I did contact Pearl Paradise, but all they were able to tell me is that it can handle sizes 8mm to 15mm. Seemed like they were kind of just reading what they could out of a catalog of items.
