As a follow-up, I took at look at the necklace with a loupe (x10). Unlike the Freshamas, which looked smooth, it kind of looked like a little version of the moon (lots of little round craters).

That sounds about right to me as well. Looks like they weren't much of a deal at $25.

I don't think that pattern continues throughout the strand. Another section had 3 potato-shaped, then 1 round, then 2 square-ish.

Unfortunately I already wrapped them. I'll have to give the picture another shot so all the experts on here can weigh in!

I'll try the pencil picture when I get home from work. The holes are fairly small, but I'll have to check on the beveling. The damage doesn't seem to be as much flaking as it looks like dents. In looking at the bead being noticeable near the drill holes, what would it look like?

Hey everyone, It's been 3 days since I re-strung the bracelet and I'm having a bit of an issue. On Sunday I re-strung it removing 1 pearl to compensate for the increased size of the knots. Now, 3 days later, the bracelet has already stretched out to where it was when that pearl was included...

I wish I would have checked this forum an hour ago! I just finished re-stringing it with the regular double knots and it fits/looks great! Maybe I'll give the PP#30 a try next time it needs to get done. At least I remember the technique I learned yesterday :-)

Well it's been one day and I think I'll be re-stringing the strand again. It seems that using all the double knots when I re-strung them yesterday made the bracelet slightly too big. I'm afraid I'll have to remove one of the pearls after I gather some supplies. I guess I'll at least get to...

I just ordered myself some of the Power Pro 20. I figure it won't hurt to try it myself a few times...and if I'm unsuccessful, then I can just take the Power Pro to a jeweler instead.

How difficult would it be for me to re-string it myself?

Will the fishing line damage the pearls at all? What should I expect the jeweler's response to be when I ask to have my bracelet to be re-strung with fishing line?
