Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Ugh, the amount of envy I'm feeling is rather unflattering... but dang, blue akoya pearls!!! I can only imagine the majesty, because I've never seen any in really life. I'll have to change that one day!

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

I finally found the perfect outfit to wear my new vintage akoya necklace! Because of the length I was able to see it all day, and I'm definitely seeing the appeal of akoyas. It is SO shiny, and the overtones of pink and the little sparks of blue are mesmerizing. I maybe got a little too...

WARNING! - Edi Vichien (?) from Agustus Collection - money embezzlement!

Oh no! This is a terrible story! What a vulnerable feeling it must be to be scammed by someone you thought you could trust. I'm new to the forum and pearl collecting, but this is a good cautionary tale. If I get deeper into collecting I'll stay on my guard. I almost want to but something from...

Well that might have been the post-work day sheen I had going on...(Southern ladies don't sweat, you know) Lol! Thank you, though.

Well, maybe it doesn't? The akoya one definitely needs to be restrung, but the SSP seems more sound, which is why I was willing to wear them today. I read somewhere on this forum that if pearls were worn frequently to restring them twice a year, and since I didn't know when they were last done...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Yay, so excited to finally have my own pearls to show in action! This is the vintage SSP necklace I "accidentally" bought on Ebay over the weekend. I got lots of compliments and it was very comfortable. I think they're great everyday pearls.

Yessss! There's no way that last clasp is going to go around the back of my neck. It needs to be seen!

I'm feeling pretty good about restringing. And if it doesn't go well, I imagine this group can help ne figure out where I went wrong. Thank you!

My first pearl necklaces! Or, Addiction: Launched

I got my two new necklaces in the mail today! They're both vintage, which as an estate jewelry collector felt right. Thank you so much to the people who gently advised against buying the Edison pearls and just getting what I really wanted (SSP!). I thought SSP were totally out off my reach, but...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

So, I had an "accident" on Ebay this past weekend (it was like I was in a trance... those necklaces just fell in my cart... I claim no responsibility for my actions!), and now those beautiful freshadama pearls are going to have wait a while. I can't wait to get my ebay necklaces so I can take...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Oh, I'm afraid I'm seeing it. In a single weekend I have somehow acquired two pearl necklaces- they haven't even arrived yet and I'm chomping at the bit to get more in different colors. Self control, where are you?

The different pearl sizes all mixed together are so fun and playful. Is that why they're called bubbles?

    Thoughts on Metallic White Ripple?

Those pearls are beautiful! To me those off round, ripple pearls are very funky and youthful. Plus with the metallic label, you know they'll need bright and lustrous. I'm a newbie too, but already my ears perk up when I hear the descriptor "metallic."
