I liked the look of these baroque akoyas I stumbled upon on etsy, so I bought them and they arrived yesterday. The colors seem a bit strange to me, they have some silver-blue coloring (which I expected), but some of the pearls are spotted or marbled or two-toned, and I'm wondering if akoyas come...

I recieved these today from Pattye who was nice enough to do a custom order for me. I had fallen in love with a prior listing and someone else bought it before I could get to it! They are LARGE, ringed (which I love), and have a beautiful rose overtone which I don't think I could capture well...

I love them both!!!

Hmmm, I suppose it's possible, it's only on the top of the pearl and not at the bottom, and it is right around the drill hole. It is a slightly darker, orangeish color, which you should be able to see on the photos (probably best on the first few pics I posted). I don't see any other darker...

Thanks, I hope they are winners too! The bead on the napkin is actually a bit of the granulation from the headpin that cracked off, I had to use another one :( When the headpin is wired on, you can't see the hole at the bottom at all. The scratching is really minor, and just near the top drill...

Oh yes, it's definately dirt. The drill holes were clean until I went messing around with them :) And I was surprised at the size of the drill holes! I don't have much experience with unset pearls but I've wired a few pairs of earrings and 3 or 4 pendants and these have the largest drill holes...

Here's some more pics. The dirty drill hole is my fault...I strung them up on some different wires to see how they would look and wore them around for a while, when I took them off they were grimy! (the drill holes seem rather large on these particular pearls) I wasn't sure how or if to try to...

I'm curious, how do you take dye OFF of pearls? Were you successful?

The color looks somewhat like the pictures, but a little lighter and more yellow than the one that I posted (the very first pic I posted in this thread is that of the actual pearls I bought, just the seller's pics and not mine). I'll be really bummed if they are dyed, I don't think I can send...

These were around $40-45 USD per pearl, I liked the color on these but didn't purchase these specifically because of the heavy blemishing. The one's I received are clean (no blemishes at all), but I did question the natural color.

They were sold to me as natural-color pearls (actually, this particular listing didn't specify, but most of her listings DO specify natural color, when I messaged her to ask about these specifically, she told me that the only treated pearls she sells are the chocoloate ones and she discloses the...

Here is one more pic (not my pearl) from the same seller, looks to be very similar to the pair that I bought...any thoughts on the darker spot actually ON this pearl? I think you can see the drill hole a little better in this one too... I inquired with the seller about possible...

Ah-Ha! So IndoSeaPearls is your shop!! Beautiful pearls you have, I've been looking in your shop daily, I love the pair of white baroques you currently have listed! I had been wanting some golden ones so I haven't bitten yet, but I might just have to take the plunge :)

They are about 9 MM, only the top hole seems to be darker, the bottom looks normal. When I look inside the drill hole all I see is white.

And here's another pearl from the same seller, you can see what I mean about the darker color around the drill hole in this one, it looks just like mine does...
