Well, the strand with the clasp has 48 pearls in it. Utterly consistent with Terry's AAA 9-10mm Freshwater pearl strand. It does have more silver though, which makes me think Tahitian. But hey, you see a duck, you hear a quack. I'm usually wrong anyway so here goes...it's a freshwater...

All this has totally inspired me to purchase a Sea of Cortez pearl. It's silver with lavendar/pink overtones. 8.8 to 9.2mm I think. Just a little guy. Not here yet. Definitely not brown. I can't wait.

I don't know. PP does (or did) sell an 18" hank of 4.5 to 5mm AAA akoya that are amazing for $110.00 unstrung so cost could depend on the clasps. $158.00 could be right in the ball park. If you love it go for it. barbie
