Thanks for the information. I feel a bit put off by pearls now actually.

    TPO Spring Sale!

I think you shouldn?t worry about what it?ll look like, and focus more on how good it?ll feel to play and touch all those pearls while wearing them!

    The Pearl Doctor

Jeremy, how long do you think the treatment on your freshwater pearls will last if you treat them well? Also, were the exotics treated in that way? Thanks.

I thought freshwaters are supposed to keep their luster for a really long time?

    TPO Spring Sale!

Callire: You?re not alone! They do change the page... The price was 150 on the 8-9 tahitians and now it?s 165. Maybe you just better be there when they put it up. Sigh. Wish I?ve had the money to buy the #5 pendant... Hopefully a Freshadama pendant in the same size will be able to comfort me...

    TPO Spring Sale!

Love the gemquality freshwater pendants! Especially 4 and 5... I?m not even sure what colour 5 is supposed to be, some kind of white?

    Inside an akoya

What? They looked quite shiny and nice to me... Surprised by how much of the quality of the pearl that lies in the nacre thickness... Akoyas does seem trickier to buy confidently than freshwaters!

    Inside an akoya

Seeing how little nacre there is on pearls that are beadnucleated does indeed sort of put you off them... I might adopt the term "pearl plated bead", they just don?t seem like pearls to me anymore. Sigh.

Please help a novice with pearl-buying decision!

Lauren: I think I agree with you on one point, I absolutely LOVE the natural coloured akoyas! But as for white pearls, I prefer freshwaters if white at all...

Etsy seller being scammed by supplier?

Things like this makes me so mad! (Not mad at the poor person that got tricked!) I really hate when people lie like that and makes you feel dumb because you really think (and are right...) that they are freshwaters rather than SS (or freshwaters rather than akoyas...) and the seller insist that...
