    So ....where to from here?....

Do you want to make a business from pearls or do you want to become a knowledgeable pearl owner? (and thanks for the recommend Douglas) Either way an aspiration to learn, learn some more and then learn even more is a good thing. With pearls there is always something new to learn and to...

HELP with South Sea Pearl Mounting: Question?

    Akoya circle pearls?

I deliberately did not identify the pearl farm/company at their request. That is a sorted bag of akoya from one of their akoya farms. It's sorted. The photo I posted earlier in this thread showed an unsorted pile of pearls which was a day's harvest from one grafter. I was there and saw it being...

    Rice Krispies or Akoya keshi?

I concur that they are freshwater, if the gold/peach colour is accurate. That is typical of freshwater pearls. But they are little darlings. I'd probably remove the gold beads and the bigger rounds and let them speak out on their own - maybe one long strand which you can wear long or doubled.

    My "Pearling" Story...

Strange, I've never had a problem with any sort of pearl. And I've had pearls sit in the goop for days and even weeks when the finding was an exceptionally good fit so it couldn't seep in easily

How do you know they were not drilled with a machine?
  19. pearlescence

    Natural?

D you mean natural as in not fake/manufactured? Because to pearl people natural means wild, unfarmed, no human activity. No pearl with a bead is a natural pearl. Hard to tell from the photos. Those could be low end thin nacre akoyas or shell pearls . Probably the former as there are flaws. Some...

    White South Sea earrings

It will probably be the nickel layer in some plating processes which affects your skin. If you select findings made to EU standards (no nickel) you will probably be okay.
