    Coco Chanel's Pearls

We use faux a lot in Canada. Really depends on your country and region therein I believe. Might have something to do with large parts of Canada being bilingual, although I'm in the West and we are not bilingual (some individuals are of course, like my sons) and yet use faux comfortably...

    Supplies and advice please

Dremel, diamond-coated bits (0.9mm), light touch. Got it. Invaluable as I abhor bloodshed. Seen the video...those puppies look like marbles. I especially like how the ladies are yakking like it ain't no big deal knotting up a stand that's worth -how much is it worth again? Something gross...

    Supplies and advice please

Hey that's great. Thanks for the heads up. I'd be very surprised if powerpro is available here. Love my country, hate the lack of supplies for, well, you name it. Can't beat $1.99 if I need to order. Never seen Gudebrod around, and not likely to now. Griffin silk in limited colors (maybe...

    Supplies and advice please

Pattye, can you tell me more about this 'reaming the pearls at the end of the strand' business. I think I will have to do that. I own a dremel, but need a bit more instruction on the type of drill bit to use and how to go about it (if that's what you do?). Do you use a clamp of some sort to...

    Supplies and advice please

Hi everyone: I have been going over tons of info here about knotting, and I know that the info is here somewhere, but I've got 2 small kids and a messy house...could someone cut to the chase for me - I'd be ever so grateful. I'm in Victoria (Canada) and the only silk available is Griffin on a...

    I'm getting something nice...

Hi everyone: I'm pretty excited right now. I've been pining for a strand of tahitian keshi's for quite some time. I haven't seen much available (not that I really know where to look) nor in a price range that I can afford. Today I ordered a strand of keshi's from Sarah's Kojima site (I can...

    I've scratched my exotics!

Okey dokey. Won't do that then. Good to know, thank you. I'm gonna wear that bracelet, be more careful and not worry about those marks. Thank you all for helping me. I got the bracelet and it was so new and shiny and then I got the first scratches on it. Scratches happen. Perhaps I should...

    I've scratched my exotics!

I was toodling around and read about this 'sunshine cloth' (at least I think that's what it was called). Has anyone had success with that?

    I've scratched my exotics!

Well these are gouges, more than scratches (leaned down to push myself up from sitting on a sidewalk). I don't think they will blend into the patina that will develop with time. I'm new to wearing bracelets, and so haven't really gotten the hang of them yet...:(

    I've scratched my exotics!

:eek: I've scratched my exotic pearl bracelet! Don't ask how...but a couple of pearls have short not too deep scratches. Is there any way I can fix them?

    Did I read somewhere?

Right-O. I like sharp metallic lustre, but don't want to sacrifice that on a larger string of pearls. Sounds like I won't have to. I appreciate the insider scoop :).

    Did I read somewhere?

Further to my other thread about ordering more exotics, did I read somewhere that the smaller ones have a sharper metallic lustre that the larger sizes? Can anyone confirm or dispel that?

    What to do?

Jeez, if I could find that dang camera, I'd give it my honest best. Let me go take a quick look at them (bathroom remember?)...ok here goes... a fair amount of pink, light purple, a few green, some ivory, ivory approaching golden, and a few darker purple, lavender, or maybe deeper pink. I...
