Red Coral Beads lost their shine!

How about a polishing cloth? Sylvet Universal can be used for gemstone beads so it should be ok to gently try on coral? Not sure but with caution, worth a try I think. http://www.firemountaingems.com/resources/encyclobeadia/charts/clothtypes

    Just for fun

I like interesting small figures especially made with gemstones. If I'm a good metalsmith like you, I'd do an entire sea garden. Lol. Pearl in a clam, corals and fishes with gemstones....Hector with babies....geodes and crystal clusters....just for fun. :p

Pearls as One The New CPAA Pearl Specialist Certification Course

Just curious. Any rules in case you fail the final exam? Do you need to retake the course, wait before a re-take or can you take one immediately without going through the course again?

    New course on cultured pearls

One question though: The course says the silver blue overtone is unique to SSPs, but doesn't it occur too in akoyas?

    Woven gemstone ropes?

I think they are peyote tubular stitching and I've seen those done in corals, garnets, amethysts, etc. It was discussed years back and I purchased some for gifts done with 2mm seed pearls. Here's the link and the image...

Nacre depth requirement scrapped from January

Interesting. Having Tahitian soufflés would be interesting and I would get my hand on those, but I also foresee a market flooded by thin-nacred Tahitians which will be treated and enhanced as with SSPs.

BWeaves, the eclipse I understand is no less than spectacular but the earthquake must be also quite an experience! Funny you spoke about luggage. The last time I'm in Istanbul for an airport stopover, I got left by a flight due to change in time as it was the start of Daylight Saving Time and...

Two continents in one photo! Wearing the metallic peach Edisons at the ferry crossing the Bosphorus Strait, overlooking the continents of Europe (left side) and Asia (right side) being connected by a bridge in Istanbul, Turkey. It only takes 10 minutes by boat crossing Asia to Europe, with the...
