    Matching pearls?

Always matching if with strands but I wear studs with necklaces of other gemstones with matching color. I.e. GSSPs with yellow stones, lavender FW studs with purple stones, whites with diamonds or white stones, etc.

Nacre depth requirement scrapped from January

Just a thought. Is it possible that the low quality Tahitians may have actually come from The Philippines or Indonesia where P. Margaritefera can also be cultivated? I know that it's generally south seas but I have also been told some small farms before grow some small quantity of black pearls...

Nacre depth requirement scrapped from January

Very good point from Hanadama. Tahitians being generally black and the luster being on the surface, I think it will be difficult to see the nacre thickness by eye. In drilled pearls, one can look at the drill holes to check nacre thickness, same as in akoyas. Whatever type of pearl, the drill...

    dm jewellery tahitian collection :)

Thank you dmj. This is what I like about European Jewellery - the attention to detail even in simple, classic designs, the generous application of gold in every piece, and a higher standard in gold content which is 18k.

    PP Oct GSSP sale

Congrats Luvglitz and KaySD! Lovely golden pearls. I always hear people say golden pearls doesn't suit their tone. Even in Europe, it is one of the reasons I think why golden pearls are not popular. However, those I know that have tried deep goldens have positive feedbacks. Mainly because a...

    September Pearl Paradise Tahitians

The minimum requirement on nacre thickness even for a Hanadama is around .4mm (most in the market are .25mm) while the Tahitians have a minimum of .8mm. (though some sides of Tahitian pearls reach 2mm., even 4mm), now the thickness requirement for Tahitians have changed so we can expect thinner...

Thanks Pearl Dreams and Cathy Keshi! Laguna, I was actually waiting for someone to notice the similarity to akoyas. Did you get from the white lot with blue overtones? They will look similar because the Tahitians reflect light rather than have them pass through the nacre like SSPs. I have a...

    September Pearl Paradise Tahitians

Hanadama, I just saw your silvers. They are quite unique as well in a single strand. Do they look like metal balls in some lighting? Because of the body color, I assume they can appear silver than the whites? If anyone plan to buys these white tahitians, it looks good as a rope. Lucky for...
