    Tahitian pearl shopping in Hawaii

I have been really good at not purchasing pearls as much lately. But wild onion did it. She bought some pearls from Mark Kane in Honolulu https://www.pearl-guide.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5319 . We met up with Mark Kaneshiro today ( Mark Kane Designs). Kane is short for Kaneshiro. He is such...

Chanel and Vogue Spring 2014 - Do or Don't?

Thank you pattye and GemGeek. CathyKeshi, the WSS pearls are from PP. Last year's drop lot that was shown in the Pearl Chat prior to the Provoked Baroque segment. They are on chain and the picture was in post # 15. Chain is about 1 5/8" long. I just put the stud's post through the chain midway...

    My birthday present

The pearl's color is beautiful. Its setting pairs really well with your earrings. I like the fluid line of the earrings too.

Chanel and Vogue Spring 2014 - Do or Don't?

Sorry to hear that Blair. My daughter was playing with one of my keys when she was about 4. It was one key by itself. When I asked where it was she couldn't tell us what happened to it. A few years later when Vincent was fixing a toilet clog he found the rusted key along with a couple plastic...

Chanel and Vogue Spring 2014 - Do or Don't?

I really like Emma's Mise en Dior tribal earrings. There are some DIY instructions showing how to create the same look using plastic or resin pearls. The big pearls have drill holes large enough that one can glue rubber earring backs into the holes. Then the smaller pearls' posts are pushed...

    Question about enhancers

The following pictures include small yellow gold enhancer that Riogrande.com and bellafindings.com carry. The white gold one is the large size. Small eye pin will not fit the large size's tip of the loop (see pictures). Small enhancer can fit 9.71mm Tahitian pearls in picture. I don't wear this...

    Question about enhancers

Wild onion, that is the one. Small size can accommodate 8-9 ish mm pearl strands. I will check to see if it can go over larger pearls tomorrow. You can bend the bottom loop a little to insert the eye pin that holds the pearl if the tip is too close to the upper curvature. Bellafindings.com...

    Question about enhancers

Yes it is interchangeable in the sense that you can hook any pendant ( with a small eye pin) onto the bottom. Because the enhancer has a wider width parallel to the neck it can lay flat. An enhancer that has a very large eye but with the eye 90 degree from the body (similar to wild onion's...

    Question about enhancers

I am not at home right now but you can find one enhancer picture in my album. In general the very wide one will not look good if paired with gold chain. They sort of turn sideway, funny looking IMO. I have seen them posted in the pricescope forum. But everyone has different taste. If you plan to...

    new tahitians from honolulu!

Wild onion, gorgeous pearls in beautiful settings! The vivid green is spectacular in that trumpet pendant. I have seen Mark's pieces at Jewel of Paradise in Hanalei, Kauai. He chooses his pearls very well. They all have excellent luster and colors. It is good to hear you found the perfect double...

    Pastel Tahitians

Douglas had some pastel SoC too. Wait for the harvest in June/July 'ish or check his website perlasshop.com. I have a pendant of 3 Soc. Also a picture of a SoC with 2 purloined FW pearls (pink and white).

    Where/What to Buy in Hawaii??

jmd, have you gone to Oahu yet? Check out Margo Pearl/ Tahiti Pearl Market on Kalakaua. I think they are still on 2nd floor of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. Like others have said they have boxes of pearls in different colors and grades. They are not cheap but not overly expensive if you don't...

    Pastel Tahitians

Prices depend on seller too. Margo Pearls/Tahiti Pearl Market in Honolulu every now and then has some nice pastel ones. I think their pastel pearls are about the same price as the darker ones, considering same surface and luster. Here they are taken with my peacock ones.

Source for souffle pearl earrings besides PP?

Here they are with different backgrounds. The one with the gold chain is my snail pendant (if you turn it sideway).
