Ivona and Boo, Oh, yes, I much prefer mixed shades and tones. As beautiful as a perfectly matched strand is, for me it is the mixed strands that reign supreme. (This is just my own personal opinion).

Hi Elisa, Lovely earrings, thanks for the pics. I'm not surprised that they aren't hallmarked as many, many jewellery pieces of that age weren't marked at all. Find an independant high street jeweller, one who sells vintage and antique items, and preferably a family business that's been around...

Personally I prefer the 22 carat beads. They are smaller and matte finish so will match your clasp. I don't think (but can't be sure) that any colour difference will be obvious.

Pattye, You are so right. I've lately come to realise that daintier, short necklaces no longer suit me; the same goes for smaller pearls, too, so I'm gradually re-working several of my pieces. All pearls 10mm. and smaller will be made into ropes so I can wear long and single, or doubled/tripled...

All are gorgeous - but I LOVE the ropes.
