    Storage & humidity for FWP

Hi Sarah, Re. opening each box or pouch to find a particular item - this is how I keep my jewellery. In other drawers I have antique pieces in individual clear-lidded boxes so I can still see items at a glance.

    Some nice finds from E-Bay

Pattye, I too have purchased many pearls from Carolyn and am highly delighted with each and every one. There were two occasions when I wasn't happy with the pearls, but that was not down to her misdescribing or misleading; it was purely that I didn't like the colours. Having contacted her...

    Some nice finds from E-Bay

"A unique photo for each and every item" I hope Wendy is referring to loose pearls / strands and those who sell in bulk. Because I most certainly do have unique photos. of each and every item on my site. Although I have to agree that some appear to get away with stuff that others are derided...

The Most Valuable Tahitian Color or Overtone

Sheryl, I particularly love the pistachios and chocolates.......:) But I have seen so many mediocre black Tahitian pearls that are just that - black with no overtones at all - that any good Tahitians with gorgeous overtones are, for me, the most valued and valuable. P.S. - Cathy, thanks for...

    How to Wear Pearls

In your photos., the pearls look fabulous whichever way they are worn (oh, to have your model's looks.....:)). I'm currently putting together a slightly longer rope - smaller pearls, about 6mm. - 7.5mm. - and will wear it layered, layered, layered... Sometimes wrapped three times, sometimes...

My mysterious ring with a large SS pearl: new developments

It may well be so, Olga, but it is, nevertheless, a thing of beauty and one to be treasured. Of course, it is also possible that an heirloom was no longer fashionable and so the materials were used to make a more wearable piece. This was common here, and I presume it would be the same elsewhere...

    What excites you about pearls?

Caitlin, Sorry, I misled you; I topcoated the painted walls with a clear glaze that has coloured sparkles in it. But it has the effect of iridescent glass - rainbow colours that shimmer as the light or the person moves.... Michael, The iridescence fascination came first; dad had a shell...

    What excites you about pearls?

Well, this thread has pulled me up short...:) It's iridescence every time for me. I hadn't realised quite how entranced I am by it either, until this thread made me think about it. Flicking the duster around today, I realised that I have iridescent glass and mother of pearl all over the house...
