Yes... this was my first folly as far as opals are concerned. Between my pearl addiction and craving for opal, I do have to be careful with my purchases.... Two expensive hobbies... LoL..

My daughter hair it's a whole another story..... I don't remember what the natural color is....... For graduation it was orange, for wedding red, now it's hot pink...... I gave up few years ago on commenting.....

Base is a metal hair band with those comb like "teeth". Pearls and Swarovski on thin (32) metal wire. Originally it was little fuller and bigger. I made it for her wedding, together with necklace, bracelet and earrings. She looked like a chandelier in my opinion... but when does mothers opinion...

My daughter wears this thing almost daily.... no comment.... she likes to "glitter". Far cry from professionaly made tiara that started this thread. FW pearls and Swarovski.

I agree..... I almost bought them... Almost, because I realized that all my opal is crystal or semi crystal and those beads "ask" to be used for dark base pendant.....

Pattye, yes... they are mine... and you are welcomed to visit me any time. I would love to show them to you... or to anybody else who wants to see my opals :) My love for pearls is not replaced by love for opals. I still try to collect pearls that I find beautiful and for me beautiful does not...

Beside that they are way cheaper (LoL)... They are hydrophane...they are like sponges (exaggeration). When wet they look totally different: some look better, some worse. Cutting process is similar to cutting Australian opal. I love those little gems. When they are nice, they are super nice. And...

Thank you all... I'm happy you like my choice. It's always good when so many pearl experts and lovers agree. When I chose this strand out of all those strands of baroque ones, I knew immediately that this is The One. They all look delicious, but somehow only this one was a "must have" for me...

Hi Pattye. Thanks... Those pearls are special. Pictures that I posted were provided by PP. The neck shot is showing the unfinished strand and this picture was sent to me by Jeremy to help me decide (my decision was made the moment I saw those strands.. LoL..)
