I'm going to be brave and attempt drilling a FW pearl, but first... recommendations?

lets say that I'm much less likely to have a nail polish on... LoL.... Worse is the lapidary grinder....reduces your nail into bleeding stump in a blink of an eye.... It's little better when I use a dop stick.

I'm going to be brave and attempt drilling a FW pearl, but first... recommendations?

"Tahitian Pearls" seller found on TradeTang

If you wouldn't tell me that ALL the pearls there are FW, I would think that this picture is of Tahitian silver peacock drops... Price is not, but from image only, I would say Tahitian... shows me that I'm not such an expert yet....

    taking pictures of pearl jewellery

I read somewhere that one way of taking pictures of pearls is to put then in a shallow dish with water. Water is diffusing light making pearls look more natural on the picture. I tried it and liked the result. All the pictures below are of the submerged pearls ...Only problem I had was getting...

    Removing Pearls from Stud Posts

Reading this statement made me remember funny story. I happened over ten years ago. We did have an electric kettle at home back then too... We went camping with our daughters. We arrived to the place, set the tents, I pulled out our camping stove, put a kettle of water on and wanting to go for...

Please, give me your thoughts about those pearls.

They told me not to bother sending the strand back... I couldn't go for that. I would hate if anybody there would think that I benefited in any way from this botched transaction. I think that $70 is a fair price to pay for the lesson learned... I could have. should have ask for more...

Yes. If I placed pearls carefully like they did, I would get same picture. color & luster were good on part of every pearls. Smaller pearls at the ends were clean and both sides were good, unfortunately most central 2/3 of the strand was not up to standard. I got refund already..... even if...

Please, give me your thoughts about those pearls.

I'm buying directly from China. This purchase was from Zhejiang Runfeng Jewellery. My agent in China found those pearls there. I should have no problem with refund. I wasted $70 on shipping it back.. but this is all I lost... ( some pride maybe too...)

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT !!... I received the strand.... and I sent it back. I did not even take pictures. I was so furious at myself for believing in miracles and believing that I found a strand that is close to what Jeremy found for Hisano.... Loose pearls that I received from the batch that...

Please, give me your thoughts about those pearls.

Yes, the color corrected picture shows color more realistically. I should get the strand mid this week. Pearls for this strand were picked form "bucket" of loose pearls. I got those picture first: It made me ask if they have enough pearls for a strand.... They did.. :)

Please, give me your thoughts about those pearls.

no.. I like baroque pearls. My concern is with the pearl sides that I DON'T see.. From what I can guess looking at the picture, some are flattish. I was told that luster on the "other side" is very good to and that there is no blemishes... Price is in the range of better "ripple" pearls..
