Hey guys, what are my chances????

They weren't represented as natural or cultured so I wouldn't be too upset if they weren't naturals. I'll pull out my projector and try some images (these are pretty small) later this evening...

    ID help please

Over the last few years, I have on "my wife's behalf" been on a moderate spree but with my last foray she's placed an embargo! I am hoping that my novice ID skills are on track so if you all would weigh in, I'd appreciate confirmation/correction. All were billed as "cultured". left to right...

Hey guys, what are my chances????

Well they finally arrived so I gave them a bath and..... On re-stringing we'll probably delete the really blemished one.

    Not pearls but ....

My wife re-strung an onyx coin bead necklace with silk and of course it frayed in no time. I think she used 4# (she just said 4) so could someone please recommend a stronger/more resilient thread? Thank you in advance for you suggestions! RogerG

Hey guys, what are my chances????

Thanks for weighing in Jeremy! Do you think we should have them knotted when re-strung or are the too small?

Hey guys, what are my chances????

Much to the "CFO's" chagrin I did it again and took a chance on an interesting strand. They look like oldies to me and have 24k findings. They range from 3.7-4.3mm. Do they look to you like they're worth a trip to NY? Please excuse the vendor pic quality! When they arrive, I'll hopefully be able...

    Are these Tahitians? What color?

They actually present somewhat "brighter" or toward the color in the original photo in natural daylight. I just don't have any photographic skill to capture them without massive shadow in sunlight.

    Candled Natural Pearls

Thank you for the detailed comments! I think it's worth the trip as well. Now we'll see if the "owner" agrees lol.

    Candled Natural Pearls

I love the challenge of getting the shots so here are some more from several angles around then to and bottom. For scale the dimensions are roughly 15.2x11.3x10 mm

Are these close enough to combine?

Hello all! We just purchased another Tahitian necklace and I decided to compare it to my wife's other two. I noticed that they are similar in color and the two smaller strands are very close in luster. The pearls on the new one are 9.02-10.62mm and the other ones are 10.1-12.5. I am wondering if...

    Are these Tahitians? What color?

I wish I knew how to use a camera! I have tried to get a shot that conveys the colors that come through in daylight but can't seem to get it right! Here is the best I've come up with...

    Candled Natural Pearls

I guess I'll add to the thread resurrection too! Douglas recommended taking my wife's pearl ring to the dentist for a checkup but I remembered Dave's "alternative". I was sitting at my desk and remembered my 2-arm fiber optic projector so with some cardboard and my pocketknife here we are...

    "Natural" pearl vintage ring

I took a closer look with our 30x loupe and was able to make out (barely) that they must have cross drilled and looped the wire through the back of the pearl and tightened it through the cross bar to secure the pearl. I think it was a neat idea to, as Douglas said, be able to service/clean the...

    "Natural" pearl vintage ring

We've been on a bit of an acquisition bender of late (more later) and one of the wife's finds is this ring billed as natural. I think it was a nice purchase but is there any way to confirm origin? I am also curious what the wire tied under the pearl is for. I assume it is somehow anchoring the...

    Are these Tahitians? What color?

Another question... Does anyone recognize this maker's mark?

    Are these Tahitians? What color?

Thank you, Jeremy! You called the size range almost exactly (9.02-10.62 according to vendor). This image was a capture from the vendor so I'm not sure of it's representation of the true colors. When they arrive, I'll try my hand at capturing accurate images. Thanks again! RogerG

    Are these Tahitians? What color?

Hello all! We just purchased these online and I (actually the boss) would like get some confirmation as to type. Do they make it into the Pistachio realm? Thanks for your input as always!!!
