    Harvest millions of shells

I guess this is what you get when you go through millions of live "shells." The pearls are gorgeous, but it makes me sad to see the products. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6qHl-2pw3Q...

    Blue Tahitians

These photos make me believe that they are not Tahitians. The color just isn't right. I also see some pitting that appears to have darker color in it, like it might be treated. I'm not familiar with these types of FW, but from the posts above, it sounds like you still got your money's worth.

Cultured or Natural? Salt or Fresh?

First impression - not natural. Second impression...let's hear from the others!

    Blue Tahitians

Wow, hard to tell. I'd like to see a close up on white, with just a few pearls. When you say "perfectly round" that sends up a red flag to me. Perfectly round 13mm Tahitians on a strand with no graduation would be a very, very, very unusual find, and even an uniformed appraiser would price...

    Trusted ebay seller?

No need to be sorry! I really think it's awesome that you are a discerning pearl buyer and know what you are looking for. It's just me wanting to make very sure that we are very clear in our "reviews" for those that aren't as well versed. For me, luck shouldn't be a part of buying, but that's...

    The designer's corner

Lavender luciousness. These are truly lavender metallic in color. Slight oval shape to them. Very yummy. Not much of a design, but I loved finding this strand!! 8.5 - 9.6mm in size.

    Trusted ebay seller?

I think you really need to eyeball the strands very carefully. A strand like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/52-10-7-8-0-MM-OPERA-ENDLESS-BLACK-TAHITIAN-LOOSE-PEARL-NECKLACE-3-STRAND-/230690569595?pt=US_Fine_Necklaces_Pendants&hash=item35b63abd7b#ht_5747wt_915 for instance. This strand contains...

    The designer's corner

OK, my turn again. Sorry if these are reposts. Wire and Tahitian necklace, finished with leather so you can adjust length, Kamoka pearls on the leather. Green amythest (prasiolite) and green toned Tahitians.

Paspaley is mixing in stones for the Christmas collection

Nice, but nothing to write home about. If I had their resources, I would be blowing it out of the water. Black spinel, OK.. I like black diamonds myself.

I could try and catch a dragon for you. But you might want something quicker than that!!! :)

    The designer's corner

Awesome stuff everyone! Answers from way back - yes I work hardened the silver with plastic plier thing, cloth, and some slight rubber hammering through a sunshine cloth. It's still flexible enough to go on an off wrist, but holds pretty well.. I've test driven it. I think it was 13 gauge...

    The designer's corner

Thanks! Wendy - the bangle is made from wire by me. I drilled the pearls, and put the wire in very tight with my pearl glue to secure it.

    The designer's corner

I haven't had much time either, lately. Trying to get things on the Etsy site, which seems to work better than my website. I'm having issues with it right now (the website). I'm still into the leather and pearls and have some new stuff to try - maybe when I get back from NYC. Here are a...

Mauna Kea Moonlight's Black Peacock Baroque Strand

I'll try and get some. I've had the hardest time shooting in this California light - isn't that weird? It was always easier in Hawaii. I'm on my way to NYC Thurs., so I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the shout out!

    Pearl Medical-Alert Bracelet

Sorry, if this shows up twice - I seem to be having posting issues. I was saying that I would use beading wire such as softflex etc. I use it with pearls (sacrilege!) anytime I mix them with something else.

Are These Cultured Pearls ? White 18k & Platinum Clasp

lol - I started with a simple question, and here I am over a thousand posts later, with not only a deep interest and respect, but buying and selling on a regular (at least before I moved) basis. If the pearl actually grew in a mollusk with absolutely no human intervention, it is a natural...

A Kamoka Pearl for only $10? - Maybe....

Pearl Dreams, who set that pearl? That is an amazing bail and a very unique way to do it.

Are These Cultured Pearls ? White 18k & Platinum Clasp

They're really quite nice. I'd say they have been reknotted at some point looking at the thread. It's really, really hard to say about age other than knowing that they are at least from the 60's. I have a vingtage akoya strand of graduated akoyas, I'll post a pic. They are lovely no matter...
