    June hong kong fair

Not me. It's hot this time of year in HK and not all the vendors show up for the June show anyway. Not that you can't have fun. I mean it is HK.

New to the forum and need some advice on a left field question!

Be careful Wesley. I found many pearls while diving the Mississippi. I gave some to some pretty girls and looking back I don't know what happened to the pearls or the girls. :D But I'm sure you will have better luck.

Pearl & Jewelry Market in Zhuji

Shenzhen is a fun treasure hunting location. You will have fun. Watch for pick pockets though. It's not a serious problem but there are a few.

Pearl & Jewelry Market in Zhuji

For jewelry I would think you would find more variety in selection and price in Shenzhen. For strictly pearls HK would be your better option. They would carry more of the higher quality pearl products there as a general rule. The thing is that some of the top pearl companies have offices in each...

Possibly, maybe Mississippi Pearl? But please correct.

Honestly, River pearls come in all shapes, sizes, colors and luster. There isn't any one identifiable factor. Your pearl could easily be a river pearl.

Pearl & Jewelry Market in Zhuji

I deal in Zhuji. Unless you deal in wholesale and expect to buy large quantities of loose pearls from a factory directly there is no advantage to going there. In fact even as a wholesaler I don't see any purpose in venturing to Zhuji much anymore. There is no price advantage. Everything is done...

    ss pearls from Indonesia?

If it were me I would buy the Australian pearl first because the nucleus has a better chance at being a quality American shell nucleus if it comes from Australia. Like people, It's what's inside that makes the difference. Oh, I should write that down somewhere.;)

    Plastic nuclei used in pearls?

I just like the phrase "thermal expansion coefficient". It makes us sound like scientists. ;)

Production Company looking for Pearl Hunters

OK OK ya found me. What's the job pay and is this an academy award opportunity? Who is my costar? I will only work with certain actors. Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and I don't do a lot of multiple takes. I won't work with Lindsey Lohan or Adam Sandler. I am a serious actor and I don't work with...

    Plastic nuclei used in pearls?

They often use plasitc nuclei to grow faux pearls. I've seen a lot of that on faux pearl farms. Very popular there unlike glass pearl farms where they use hummingbird eggs. No,really! I read about it on Ebay so I know it's true. ;)

    what kind are those?

A new pearl designation "FC Pearls" It could stand for "Face Cream" or you can use your imagination for what else "FC" could stand for. ;)

I can second this. I would go back in a heartbeat.

A little honesty in Pearl Farming is in order

Yes, I would say there is a fair bit of exaggeration taking place in this story line. They even claim to supply 17 countries with pearl nucleus. That’s quite a feat. They must do it very quietly. ;)

A little honesty in Pearl Farming is in order

Being in the U.S. nuclei and mussel shell trade since 1969 I think I am qualified to point out some bad practices that have taken hold in recent years. In order to save a few bucks some farmers have taken to using inferior nuclei made from all sorts of odd shells. I have been approached by pearl...
