I've seen that company too, and under several different names. In the past year we've had two other companies steal our photos and even product descriptions. One looked like a very legitimate site (and still does since the site is live and advertising today), apart from all the stolen photos...

This event was so much fun! It was our first time vising Lake Kasumi ga Ura, and Mr. Yoneguchi-san is truly inspiring. I am still wrapping my head around the fact that he manages the entire farm completely on his own. It's mind-boggling!

It's hard to say without seeing the pearls. Most of the pick-your-oyster pearls are freshwater, but companies can purchase akoya in the shells if they pay for it. All of the pearl parties I've seen online (this was trending big a couple years ago) showed freshwater pearls coming out of akoya...

We are going to be visiting Takahashi Pearl while in Kobe this month! Hisano is going to do a livestream with them.

The nacre thickness is really impressive. It looks like they have 3-4 times the thickness of today's akoya. They could have been farmed by Mikimoto when he was leaving the pearls for longer periods. Before the 1970s, 1 mm was pretty normal. Now anything .6 and above is considered extra thick.

The best lab I know of in Bangkok is GIA. I'm not sure I would trust any other lab there.
