    Help Identify

They appear to be imitation pearls, unfortunately.

    Are they of any value?

This is a circled strand of freshwater pearls, which aren't tremendously valuable. There is a similar 64-inch strand on eBay for $295.

@jeg that turtle clasp!!!!!!!!:love::love: @Pomelo I love the look of keshi pearl earrings. They can be so difficult to match, and your pair looks great together.

    Eureka, Elizabeth Strack's Pearls

It's the best pearl book out there, IMO. It has become a bit outdated though. A lot has happened in the past 25 years since it was published. I did hear that Elisabeth Strack was considering an updated version, but I don't know for sure if that's going to happen.

AGTA News - "Chinese/Baby Akoya" are Actually Nucleated FWPs!

Ugh. I haven't seen these before. The address is Fa Yuen Street in Mongkok. That's not an address, it's a street market close to Ladies Market and Goldfish. It's probably a great place for all sorts of knock-offs. They really did a poor copy job with these. Even research is spelled wrong.

Thought they were glass at first, maybe not ?

I agree. These are imitation pearls.

When you reached out, the team didn't know what Hisano and I had found. They thought we were only bringing back some special blue baroques. But we did find pistachio too - and golds! They just arrived on Monday and we updated the event description :)

    Chinese red fresh water Pearls

Edisons can have some red to them, but if they are regular Chinese freshwater pearls, they have been dyed. This necklace shows a mix of dyed colors None of these colors would grow naturally in freshwater.
