I have some natural golden Akoyas from PP, a strand and a bracelet. The necklace is a deeper tone, the bracelet a softer champagne color. I like the bracelet, but the necklace doesn't flatter my skin tone at all. I keep thinking it needs a new home. So, definitely consider your own skin tone.

I caught this on NatGeo last night, so it's in rotation. The cinematography was beautiful, especially the underwater footage. Whales, oysters, horizontal waterfalls, absolutely stunning.

I've been following this saga, and I'm glad for a happy ending! We'll need photos, naturally. It's nice of Mikimoto to replace the damaged pearls, but that's how you preserve your reputation. I'm sure they don't want to certify bad pearls as Miki.

It's like stamp collecting -- the errors are the most valuable. :D

I received my certificate yesterday, but I was on my way out the door, so I didn't look too closely. I did notice a lot of lower case letters, and joked 'certificate issued by e.e. cummings.' When I get home, I'll look to see if it says 'herby.' :D

That same Mikimoto clasp is listed on eBay. Lots of people sell things to be rid of them, at bargain prices, so I'm going to guess that the OP got a great deal.

When I inherited my grandmother's pearl necklace (30"), there were splotches of gravy on a few pearls near the bottom. I cherished every spot, thinking of family Thanksgiving dinners. (Yes, I did clean the pearls. Eventually.)

Whenever I see this topic title, all I can think is "real men wear whatever they want." It goes back to that cliche, "real men don't eat quiche," and the response "real men eat whatever they d*mn well please." :cool:

On my monitor, it looks navy blue. I'm not sure I'd wear color block with leopard, but I live in Keds, so what do I know.

I'm guessing that someone needs to verify that we actually took the course and passed the exams. I'm hoping that the certificate is not automatic!

I finished! I really enjoyed the sections on South Sea pearls. I find that I have a new appreciation for my pearls. A round of applause for the teams that put this together. Nice job!

Oh, good to know! Maybe I'll wait until the quizzes are added before I go any further. My memory isn't what it used to be. I've been doing one section at a time. Yesterday was Tahitians, later today will be SS, etc.
