Are the Fiji pearls naturally chocolate? I've noticed that a couple of our online vendors no longer carry chocolate Tahitians, which are usually irradiated.

There are so many factors to consider. I recently saw some "battleship gray" Tahitians that had really beautiful reflective qualities due to their lustre and perfect shape. The real test is how they look against your skin, not how they look in the box. Tahitians come to life when worn.

Unfortunately, those soy based products appeal to rodents, who like to chew on your car's wiring. Manufacturers have been using soy-based coatings under the hood for quite some time, but I didn't know about the interior, as well. Topic -- nothing for me from the PP event, so far.

Add me to the list of people who like the souffle earrings, too, but I'm not buying them! :D

I learn so much from you! Thank you for the explanation. I was once at a trunk show, and I casually asked the vendor if they had "gem grade" pearls. They looked at me funny, like I was FBI or something, and then pulled a box from under the counter. I just wanted to see gem grade in person...

If you just want to look at pearls to get a feel for what you like, you can try department stores like Macy's, or if you're brave enough, Tiffany's. The prices will be very high, but looking is free. I've seen Mikimoto pearls in consignment shops. Our online vendors have varieties of pearls...

Thanks, pattye, but I find I have fun with the loose pearls. Because of the large drill hole, they fit on chains, and my favorite is to place them on a safety pin and wear as a brooch. I like to fasten the pin from behind, so all you see is a floating pearl(s).

The same could be said for drop earrings. I prefer-half drilled, too.

I think most of our online pearl vendors sell bracelets in a standard length ... worst case, if you order a bracelet and don't like the fit, you can request modifications. Add a pearl, remove a pearl, etc. Pearl Dreams had an excellent suggestion about visiting a craft store with a tape measure.
