    Boyfriends Heirloom Pearls

You were smart not to wear them. There is no gimp at the clasp ends and this could have caused a failure with the pearls being lost.

    Grey Natural Pearls?

I'm not sure if this was Pattye's photo or someone elses from last years ruckus. This was taken outside in the shade of the bag of sea of cortez pearls. I believe the flash light Pattye just showed you was used on the pearls.

    Help with wedding pearls!

I agree with Pearl Dreams. There is a wide range of tones these older akoyas can turn making matching a problem unless you take them shopping with you to the antique stores. I looked for some using ebay and ended up looking in person. If you don't find earrings, perhaps you'll find a strand...

Size of my SS pearls - are these 10.0-11.0 mm?

Zowie, The bottom numbers on your tape measure are Millimeters. The 10mm is hidden by the silver end piece, but you can still see the the individual MM measurements. If you're looking for something about 1/2 inch in size. look for 12.5 mm pearls

    Abalone mabe from Mexico ?

I seem to remember Michael Valitutti selling California abalone mabe for a short time on ShopNBC. This was back in the late 1990's early 2000.

    Chin's jeweler on Ebay

They are not Kasumi pearls, they are Chinese freshwater pearls. No one is allowed to call them Kasumi unless they are grown in Lake Kasumi. These Chinese pearls are not rare and to do so is cheating the buyer who thinks they are something totally different than what they are buying.

    Chin's jeweler on Ebay

    Chin's jeweler on Ebay

Please read this item from our own Blaire Beavers. She did this for Pearl Guide news. It will make you think twice about dealing on ebay. This seller is deceptive with their listings of Kasumi pearls. NO one sells them at those prices, and they can't be genuine...
