    Help identifying/evaluating vintage inherited pearls

They look a lot like my grandmother's Richelieu faux pearls from the 1940's or 50s. The yellowed color. The lack of overtones. The graduated shape of the pearls in the necklace. The clasps. I treasure them. Lots of women wore faux pearls back then. Jackie Kennedy. Barbara Bush. Coco...

PJ's and Pearls. I don't feel like getting dressed today. I just layered on a bunch of white pearls today. I've never done this combo before. 9 mm Hanadama akoya studs from PP. My birthday choker of akoyas to which Mom added a Mikimoto clasp. Aunt Love's Blue Lagoon strand. 9 mm...

    Help identifying/evaluating vintage inherited pearls

I could be wrong, but I'm getting a "good faux pearl" vibe from both strands.

OOOOO, JEG. Thank you for all the photos and modeling the pieces. It really helps me judge the scale of the pieces seeing them side by side and modeled. There are a few pieces I really, really like, but I don't think I need them. I love the pearl stuffed shells, and the cameo with the...

I've certainly never seen a pendant like it before, either. The size, the colors, the thickness of the nacre. I can really feel and see the thickness of the nacre. It's almost translucent.

Help Identify & Possible Value if any?! THX

The red ones and white ones don't look like pearls at all. Maybe shell beads. No value to speak of. Pennies. The long ones look like fireball pearls, but very low quality. Again, no value to speak of.

    Help Identify Vintage Pearl Bead?!

They don't look like pearls at all. They look a bit like tiger-eye. Or dyed shell beads. You might want to consider taking the PearlsAsOne course to learn more about pearls. https://pearlsasone.org/

    Is this worth its price?

I love circled Tahitians. They're so colorful. The price sounds fair to me.

I feel like my Eclipse pearls are more winter pearls than summer pearls, but I was in the mood for intense color today. Eclipse Edison necklace from PP Live Event. Bali Tahitian earrings from Kamoka. I still cannot get over how incredibly colorful these pearls are. They look like metal...

60-80 year old pearls. Please help

I did a little googling and a 18" strand of pearls from the 1960s have Ebay asking prices in the $100 to $400 range. They may sell for less, though. Pearls don't tend to hold their value.

I forgot to photograph my last few days of pearls. My best white pearls for Father's Day. Long South Sea, akoya, and freshwater tin-cup from Kojima. Natural white Hanadama rope from PP. The Queen drop shaped pendant from Kojima. My refurbished Mikimoto yellow gold huggie earrings. I...

60-80 year old pearls. Please help

They're very nice. The ruby clasp is probably worth more than the pearls. I don't think they're worth getting appraised. Insurance value is not the same as resale value which will be much lower. What value is your dad wanting? Search online for pearls that are the same mm in diameter...

What’s my Grandfathers Clam Pearl Worth

That is freaking adorable. It really draws attention to the pearl and the little shell lets you know what it is. Much better than mounting the pearl in a ring or a pendant. Wow! It also protects the pearl from bumps and knocks. Win win!

    Marking Identification Help Please

It looks like a nice strand of graduated pearls, as was popular in the 1950s, with a generic fishhook clasp. The M is probably the mark of the company that made the clasp, not the company that strung the pearls. The jeweler who strung the pearls would have bought the clasp from another...
