    Baroque Tahitians?

It is never wrong to prefer what you prefer. There is no "right" taste. I prefer my spinels with more silk than ideal, my cars smaller and cheaper, my sapphires lighter, my tea weaker and so on. Guess what? That is what appeals to me most and make me happier. Embrace the cool shapes, beautiful...

Gorgeous colours and it matches his shirt.

    Seasonal pearl style?

I get two seasons here: dry sauna (hot and dry, with no rain for 120 days) and wet sauna (not quite as hot but very muggy, with daily rain). I wear my pearls during both.

    365 Days of Pearls

It works beautifully with your top. I love the soft neckline and how they share shades of lavender.

Looking for general information about this strand

How interesting - I would never have guessed Mikimoto, even second line Mikimoto, from the finish on the strand. That kind of finding screams low quality to mean and that is not the case of Mikimoto's Blue Lagoon.

Some bar spacers would be very helpful for a dog collar. They keep all the strands in place.

    Clasps for bracelet

Thank you for all the comments - it is interesting to see the thoughts behind the preferences. I have a sort of love/hate thing with magnetic clasps. Most look plain cheap. And if there is any safety mechanism, we are back to the fiddly thing again. I hadn't thought of a fold over. For some...

    Clasps for bracelet

*sigh* I am still trying to figure out a clasp for a large Tahitian bracelet. Every clasp type just seems awkward to use (I am a cuff girl, personally). So, what kind of clasp do you guys prefer? Toggle, a substantial hook, box, something else?

My south sea tin cup summer project

The longer one is certainly the more modern look. Both are lovely. To me, it boils down to what function the earrings will have in your wardrobe (classic staple vs something more modern) and how they work with your features.

Tahitian pendant and earrings for "milestone" birthday?

Congratulations on your upcoming 16th!

    Finally finished; my gssp necklace

It looks beautiful and very classy. The corrugated beads add a little texture and interest, I think, contrasting with the pearls.

    Tahitian pearls - Destroyed!

It is an easy repair: reinsert the nucleus in a shell, wait a while, harvest and it is as good as new ;)

Robert Wan and Jacques Branellec Receive JNA Lifetime Achievement Awards

A standing ovation to both gentlemen. The pearl world would be a lot poorer without the fruits of their labour.
