Anyone purchased from echen88 on Ebay? What do you think of their pearls?

What stands out right away for me is that the findings don't fit the pearls. They were made for larger pearls and the curvature doesn't match. I don't think it will be visible when worn but it may catch your hair. How much of a deal breaker this is would depend on how much you paid. I would not...

Beautiful colours! Have you chosen a clasp yet?

    Antique Brooch With Odd "Pearls?"

I doubt the stone was swapped. The turquoise is somewhat irregular and requires a bezel made for it. Opening a bezel to remove a stone usually requires rebuilding the bezel, as well. The swirls look to be die struck.

Evaluate this South Sea Pearl Strand

Yes, so much yes. This kind of purchase shouldn't be made in a hurry and your heart should sing at it. I don't think you risk much by looking around more.

    Queen Sonja's Multistrand Choker

I love Queen Sonja's pearls at State Banquet in Norway! The combination of different sizes makes it quite modern and fresh, in my opinion.

    Pearl seller on etsy

Yes, it is that easy. You just need an email address to open a shop. There are some attempts to curb this, such as trying to associate shops that use the same IP address but that doesn't work very well and backfires often. This is why so many people advise buyers to choose shops with an...

Unknown Project: big ole golden Southsea pearl.

Oh, wow wow wow I'll add something more coherent once I stop drooling and googling all these beauties.

New project: pearl, tourmaline n ametyst earrings.

Ooooh, I love it! And since everyone knows my love of convertible jewelry, you could have each element be removable. It would be so much fun to mix and match: just the tourmalines for day wear or just the pearls for a more conservative event; two elements for more bling or the whole thing for...

Unknown Project: big ole golden Southsea pearl.

Wow - if the pearl is around 20mm, then the whole brooch would be around 12cms. That is seriously large and heavy - stomacher territory! Make sure the goldsmith pays extra attention to the fittings, since using the correct findings to hold and distribute the weight properly. It is also going to...

Golden south sea pearls from New etsy vendor, what do you think?

Before you wear them, you are going to need to do something about the hooks. As they are now, there is a high chance that they will slip out of your ears. Place them on a pen (to keep a nice curve) and push the back leg down, so that it hangs down when worn.

    Help sourcing a peal

Hey guys! I wonder if anyone can help me. My usual source for freshies let me down on my last order and I need a pearl to match this one. It is a freshwater pearl that tends to the golden side of peach, not the pink. I have been looking through all the usual sites but all the peaches are all...

    Lost a stud :( - finding a replacement twin

Sending the pearl to a trusted supplier so they can match it is probably the best answer. Alternatively, you can reset the orphaned pearl as a pendant, instead of replacing the missing one.

    Pearl Chain

I think the clasp was actually deliberately chosen. I think it is meant to tie the reinterpreted necklace back with the typical, humdrum pearl necklace. A more unusual clasp would distance it from the starting place. If I were to wear it, though, I know exactly what clasp I would want...

Cut and glued. You can see a seam or two on the links on the left part of the photo, if you zoom in. And I wouldn't want to be the one making it.
