One of my favourite strands is a dyed dove grey keshi, since blue akoyas aren`t in the budget. As long as the vendor was honest and sold them as dyed, they are another alternative for us.

Chinese freshwater pearls, from the shape. They seem to have nice luster although you might want to pick of a few duds. They are all nacre so you can wear them without worry.

I don't buy pearls from Rio. I find them to be lower quality and expensive for the quality. Actually, make that I don't buy pearls or stones from Rio. Have you tried Stachura? While more expensive than Wen, they have nice pearls.
