    Careful, false pearls

Aliexpress is pretty good at resolving issues. While I never had problems with the products themselves (I sometimes buy tshirts or small tools there), I have opened several cases for things lost in the mail. It was easy and pretty painless: describe the issue, wait for an answer, get a solution...

My first knotting project - taught by a master!

I think I only joined and participated because of this. Back then, I had a couple of strands of freshwater keshis which would not have impressed anyone. Having other people showing similar things made me feel more comfortable and less intimidated. To this day, most of what I work with is...

    Gold Scratching in Pearl Designs

To get a scratch, you are going to need a sharp or jagged edge of some sort. If the piece is well finished inside, there shouldn't be a problem. It will, however, cause wear with time. If the pearl is hanging free, the wear will be distributed and it will take a long time to notice. As a...

    My tahitian pearls from Wen

At least you don't have 60%+12% duty and taxes on imports... My pearls get very expensive, not to mention my tools.

    My tahitian pearls from Wen

It usually takes 2-3 weeks to get to me in Brazil. Of course, this means I just jinxed my last order which will now take forever to arrive.

    Pearls won at auction

The necklace will drape much better if you restring it, knotting between the pearls, and add some french wire to the clasp attachment. Come join us in the Lowly Beader's Corner and we will get you going in no time.

    Please help: Wedding pearl "emergency"

Heat Shield would not protect a pearl, unfortunately. Ideally, he should have removed it and then glued it back in. Personally, I would remove the pearl, clean it thoroughly without the setting getting in the way and then replacing it. It isn't hard. ETA - what a lovely ring!

Is this golden south sea pearl necklace a good buy?

Contact some sellers with what you have in mind and your budget. There is often inventory that isn't listed and they can help you out.

I had some Tahitians sitting around...

A bracelet it will be, then! I'll figure out a nice, chunky clasp to complement the pearls. Matte, slightly oxidized silver, I think. Or maybe I could splurge on some grey gold.

That is lovely! The golden Fiji are the perfect touch.

At 15.5mm, it would be a wrecking ball, not a dangle. A very nice wrecking ball!

I had some Tahitians sitting around...

Circles, rings and colours are my weakness. Give me an interesting shape and circles over a perfect round. Yes, I admire the beauty of a perfect pearl but I find these more interesting.

I had some Tahitians sitting around...

I originally bought this half strand to make pendants and drops. But they kept whispering in my ear about becoming a bracelet. So, I played with them for a bit. The largest would have to be removed since it is rather dull and doesn't fit in well. So, what do you guys think? A big honker...

    Peek inside....

I feel you as well. I am sitting on a little birdie pearl. I don't want to drill the oddly placed holes it needs for wings and a beak.

2 eBay Questions this morning... One I think I know

Some of the gallery wire "prongs" are also sticking up, ready to snag on things. Pass on that ring.

    I am a convert

Great necklace, Linda! I love the more fantastically baroque pearls at the front and the more drapable, smaller and rounder ones at the back. It must be comfortable to wear. (sorry, I realized I owe you a reply! My email is a mess right now)

    Fun with vintage clasps

I love them! Very lovely way to combine two strings and they go so well with the colours of the pearls.
