    Black Gumballs

Same with me. Especially after 'Mamma mia", where he was definitely the biggest charmer of the mall (.. before thiis film I thought I fancy Colin Firth - but not anymore...:D)

    The Heart of the Lagoon

I am speechless... Josh, is the Heart of the Lagoon indeed silver grey, or is just a photo effect against the darker ones? Are there overtones there? Olga

    TPO natural colour akoya

They are 7 mm I found out I can also wear them with this lovely enhancer - similar natural colour and luster. (Sorry, it is an evening photo, against the rules, I know... just can not wait to show...) (now I deleted the bad evening photo)

    TPO natural colour akoya

Thanks everybody for kind words! I really developed some weakness to these little guys. And I still keep thinking that pearls sort of wake up after a long journey in a closed box. I clearly see that after a couple of days these ones became more lustrous and colourful than when I first opened...

    TPO natural colour akoya

One more thing: the white objects so sharply reflected in each pearl are not my teeth but a zip of my vest hanging over the necklace when I was making photos. Luster is indeed so high, really mirror-like -yesterday I saw myself waving in all the 50+ pearls simultaneously - like in a department...

    TPO natural colour akoya

After three weeks of expectation finally my TPO natural colour akoya necklace arrived yesterday. Unbelievable but two weeks out of three it was stuck in the local customs, half an hour away from me but there was no way to get it out of there. It is really a very pretty necklace, shiny silver...

    Tahitian Baroques

No, you are not the only one. I also have a big question mark here and definitely prefer more roundish and symmetrical shapes - but this is of course a personal preference. Olga

    My Collection

I don't see the links on the screen, as if they all suddenly disappeared... Is it my connection, or are pictures removed?

    Chocolate Tahitians and Freshwaters

It did not make it to the Low Countries either. I see occasionally brown Tahitians in the shopwindows but have never seen there chocolade FWs. Neither saw people wearing them. Olga

Pearl retail market in USA today

Josh, I am with you with this spirit. Life is going on, economies and people will have to adapt somehow, and the show should go. Yes, now it may be a different period, even a long different period. But as economic literature shows, the world has gone in the last 200 years through a number of...

    Round or Baroque/Circle or Both?

Oh no... I should not look at those pictures before going to bed... it's a pure seduction, it is not fair... Josh, this is cruel ;) And about the bomber strand: I have an impression that this is just the quality of the whole picture, not the colour of pearls. A little bit less light (or more...

    Round or Baroque/Circle or Both?

No, I don't like all of them. I don't like pronounced drops in strands. I don't like just grey or green pearls (both baroque or round) without overtones, even if they are perfect in quality. I have big round Tahitians (relatively cheap because of blemishes but size, 13-15mm, is impressive). But...

    Legend Blue

Anybody knows about the pearl internet shop called Legend Blue? (http://www.legendblue.com/). This was my first purchase ever a couple of years ago, they have a nice website, interesting designs of rings and earings but much less interesting with strands. I wonder why nobody ever mentioned...

Who were the lucky ducks who got the fireballs?

I was the lucky duck who got a natural akoya :) But OK...I already have fireballs... How many of fireballs was there available? I did not look, being concentrated on akoyas (which are also sold out within half an hour...)

Wedding day pearls: it was a difficult decision...

It may be true about the subtle difference between next lying grades. But from my personal experience, a small TW/VVS is a world more impressive that an even bigger W/SI. It is not about grades, it's about the whole thing together. The sensation of looking at the TW/VVS1 in a proper light is...

Wedding day pearls: it was a difficult decision...

It's an interesting topic. Here in the Netherlands also the size in carats means much less than the quality of diamonds. I was told recently in one of large jewelry stores in Amsterdam that there is a clear distinction between customers: Americans tend to buy by size, even if the quality is...

Circled pearls: why do they grow like that?

I also vote for two identical ball clasps rather then for a complicated clasp for a double-strand.
