    Oh My God! Pp Monthly!!

Cathy, training does wonders! My husband has also developed some understanding of fashion and style in pearls after a couple of years being forced to comment on them. Although I also think he is colour-blind: he is still not able to see overtones or anything, still could not see the blue and...

    Oh My God! Pp Monthly!!

I am so ashamed... I was supposed to sit and save and not to give away money... but I could not resist... not at all... no willpower... Anyway, here it is, a 36 inch rope with 8,5-9,0mm blue akoya. I am still recovering from my own escapade. But it is just smashing! Olga

    Tahitian jumbo pearl

It is some sort of a soft plastic, half-transparent and dark-coloured. I would never think this can be used to carry a pearl pendant, but should admit (after trying it with all the chains I have) that this is indeed a very good solution for this extravagant monstre. Thanks everybody for good...

    Tahitian jumbo pearl

Here it arrived - my VERY big dark baroque Tahitian pearl. We had to wait for each other almost for two months! The pearl is 24x18 mm (!) , has a fantasy form, very nice colours and good luster. Amazing, but for such a big pearl it has only a couple of minor imperfections. The pendant has a...

    Pearl Maxima in Naturalis/Leiden

The Dutch museum of Natural History in Leiden has in the last two weeks an exhibition of one pearl - one of the largest pearls in the world, Pearl Maxima. This giant is 71 mm high and weighs 119 gramm. It resides already for 140 years in the Netherlands, and was only once demonstrated in public...

    The Heart of the Lagoon

Sheri, it loooks great on you! BTW, as a pendant it is much more impressive than on the initial picture we saw, when it is among smaller coliurful pearls. It looks so shiny on you! Olga

    Japanese Pearl Farm Pictures

Very interesting! Jeremy, what part of Japan is it? I just realised that I never knew where the pearl farms are located in Japan. Olga

Took My Breath Away...- part two

Sheryl, thanks for the tip! I tried this too, but then the arm length turned out to be not sufficient to have a nice picture. I have to learn how to program camera for a delayed shot, so that I can install it and make a couple of steps aside. Thanks for good words - I am still dragging the...

Took My Breath Away...- part two

It took some time to make a neck shot. Here we are! (the last one is a weird shot made in a bathroom but the galogen light enhances the colours so well...) And Happy New year to everyone! Olga

Took My Breath Away...- part two

These are also Kamoka pearls. And they took my breath away too. I was already for quite a while after Kamoka pearls - Josh knows. But the problem of shipping, plus all the robbery with extra taxes while buying something from outside the EU - all this looked like a real headache. And then Susan...
